Viking sells only through wholesale distributors so I do not have a name of a retailer in your area. However, you can go to contractorstools.com
to see our whole line of products. They are a very good distributor of ours and can help you with your needs.

Also, That site shows "Viking" drill presses and I inquired about them as well.

Yeah, lol def. some creativity there. What a PITA, I cant find any retailers! It worries me because if I ever need the thing serviced I might not be able to get parts.

Also....

th make 75 of thier tools in the USA, but he didnt specify which ones. They actually make drill presses too, but they come from "Europe and Taiwan" which means all the models under 2grand come from taiwan. Better than china though.

You know, some taiwan tools offer really good value. And taiwan isn't such an economic threat as china.

Our tools are built for and sold only by professionals. Please contact XYZ company as they are best suited to review and make recommendations that will best meet your professional needs.

Note that at least Mr. Kartboy got a personal response directly from a company representative. I would also point out that my company uses a lot of hand tools and my local Klein rep told me that the biggest mistake that Klein Tools EVER MADE was selling thru Home Depot. I think we will all agree that Klien make top notch stuff. Well the returns on broken tools have just about killed Klien. Most, not all home owners have only like two tools. A hammer and a screw driver. Most of them don't know the difference and shop at Home Depot

Your right! and the prices are actually alot better. I would have never guessed it. They advertise them as having a 2 year warantee as well. Do I need an account like grainger?

You do not need an account at Grainger, just walk in, go to counter and buy stuff!

Thats what everybody keeps saying, but its only true for some of them. In my local grainger, if you dont have an account, you cant buy anything unless it is something the little "store" in front, where they sell "sale items" like wd40, 409, basic drill bit sets, that sort of thing.

The original Vikings were/are made by ATCOA. Air Tool Corp of America. They created and sold the ATCOA Viking Long Shoe Straight Line Dual Piston Air Sander in the early 1960's. There is NO other real Viking Long Shoe Straight Line Dual Piston Air Sander. ATCOA originated the term in 1960 for it's straightline long shoe air sander.

They became the industry standard. Never had one returned in over 30 years of production. When the patent ran out they were copied and a lot of knock-off were made over-seas. That is still true today. They copied the castings, even the paint trying to cash in on the name and reputation ATCOA built. They were that good.

In my opinion they are trash but ATCOA is back with the original ATCOA Viking. http://www.ATCOA.com The original Vikings are back being built under the supervision of the original Viking Designer and company founder, Karl Selander. They are so reliable and durable that ATCOA is offering an optional Lifetime Warranty or just take the standard 3-year warranty.

Visit the web site, give Karl Selander a call. You can talk direct to the original designer.

Just don't blame him for the knock-offs. He still holds the design copyright that is being violated with every knock-off sold. If you want the real thing buy his tool. You will have the original, that changed the path of an industry. The secret wasn't the casting or the color it was the metallurgy, precision tolerances, and other internal design elements. The knock-offs didn't understand the engineering and started cutting costs.
