[Sorry Folks; I meant to post this in the "Introduce Yourself" forum, but I can't delete this]

Greetings Everyone! This looks like a good place to hang out and absorb some stray brain waves. I'm restoring a 1959 Chevy 1 ton 3805 Panel Truck. I just brought it home two weeks ago; it's got lots of character and rust. I'm looking forward to tapping into some of the expertise on this site.

That looks like a fun project right there. You should get all the tips you need here. There's a lot of brains on this forum.
I'm looking forward to it. Where are you going to restore it? You gotta show us your garage.

Well, I bought an old schoolhouse that went up through the 8th grade, that was built in 1910. It came with a 90 ft. X 55 ft. gymnasium about 100 feet away. I have been restoring both of those also. The gym had a barrel style roof that had collapsed and leaked over a 10 year period. We tore that off and replaced it with a regular 1/4 pitch residential roof and put a 12 ft. garage door in the side of it. Now, it's just one honkin garage.

That panel truck needs a 3/4 ton 4x4 Suburban running gear slipped under it.

Welcome to GJ and keep us posted on the project.

I'm in Central Illinois. The first picture in this post is from Algonac, Michigan where I picked the truck up. I was lucky that they were actually in the middle of a warming thaw.
