Where would be best to place the lift? Plan on storing a car on top Looking to store as many cars as I can but want to have a place to work on one too. They are all 32 Fords measure about 6' x 15 ' roughly. Pics would help if someone has something similar.

I have a 10' wide garage....What I've learned is that even if I hade a 20' wide garage, I'd put my lift bang in the middle...

Why?

Give you room to walk around hoist when working on the car. If it's strictly for storage, i'd put it as close to a side wall as possible.

If a caster kit is available for your lift, buy it. I bought one for my 4 post Bendpak and I can move it wherever I want in my garage. Although I don't move it often, it is nice to be able to move it out of the way when I need to. I can even move it with my 240z on it.

Depends on how you want to do your garage door. If it can hug the wall/ceiling I'd put the lift near the front, so you can have workspace / bench in the back.

I have a storage loft above my garage door, so I have my lift at the back.

As far as caster kits, I've used furniture dollys with nothing on the lift with good success.

My garage is 20X28 and I put my lift in the middle towards the back. I chose the back to that it leaves the garage door unobstructed so I can bring into the garage other items like lawnmowers, bikes for maintenance. Middle I find works fine because it leaves room at the side to open car doors.
