I'm looking for opinions on how to handle a problem with my new garage. 30X48 located in Northern Michigan. Footings below frost line and 10" block stub walls. Construction started in the fall of '12. For a couple reasons, we decided to pour the floor (heated) as the last step and that's where I'm at right now.
The concrete guy compacted and put the trench drain in last year. I put down a vapor barrier, 2" insulation and PEX shortly after. I then laid OSB over this and used that as a temporary floor while finishing the interior through the winter.
My problem is this: the inside perimeter fill compacted 2-3" over the winter. The insulation is already starting to crack when walking on it.
Would you try to fill/compact under the perimeter insulation one sheet at a time?
Rip it all up and fill/compact/level again?
Other ideas?
