I have about 30-40 I-beams that measure 23 5/8" long x 3 15/16" high x 2 5/8" wide. I hate to scrap them but not sure what to do with them. Any ideas are welcome. If someone can use some of them they can have them. I live in northern Indiana.

These are solid 1/4" steel I-beams used to hold approx. 10k lbs. of batteries.

How much do they weigh? I'd love to get a couple to make anvil stands with (or at least one), but being in Virginia, they'd have to be mailed.

I'll have to look into the press idea to see if I can make that work reasonably cheap. Saw horses maybe, they are only 23 5/8" long though, but you guys got me thinking. I come across these things off various jobs throughout the year and have been wondering what I could do with them. Just can't bring myself to get rid of them without some re-purposing.

I'd like to have some but I don't know why. Scored about 100 pieces of 1/2" x 1/2" x 5' square steel tubing for the hauling this week. Too good to recycle. I'm going to offer them up on Craigslist for 50 cents each. Let someone else figure out what they are good for. Five bucks would be a fair offering price for what you have.

I'd take a bunch of that stuff if I was close. I'm thinking a fab shop that builds roll cages and hot rods may like that stuff. It might make great "tack weld to hold in place" pieces.

I did throw them up on CL awhile back for $5 a each and got one call. He really needed something 4'-5' though so didn't get any. I also get 1/2" stainless steel bolt kits (1" bolts 2 washers , lock washer and nut for a set of 8 total in each kit. Got a bucket full of those as well. Would love to let someone else use them, but none knows what to use them for, lol. I could go the scrap route and have in the past just hate to see them wasted.
