They wanted $20.00 buy it now and $5.00 shipping, I offered $10.00 plus shipping and they took it.
centered in the lathe, drilled and taped for the sander.
They get up to $25.00 each or more for the real ones.
These are a little smaller, but will be OK. I have to still do one more.
It goes on the side for the tracking.
I trapped a washer under the ring where the porcelain hot cold would go.

Good repurpose. Did you specifically search for faucet handles to find those?

This is actually a Rockwell too. Not sure of the year. 70's I think.
I gave $100.00 for it. New bearings, paint, have to fix the top drum cover. Had to get a bottom drum cover, was missing.
The side cover is messed up, not sure what I'm going to do with that.
Spanner nut that holds top bearing in was missing, they wanted $65.00 for it, So I made one that worked.

That's nice! IDK the year on mine yet. Just picked it up last week. Have yet to research it. It does work though. Needs a full facelift.

Picked it up along with the other stuff for 15 bucks. A Proto c-clamp, a bunch of JH Williams C-Clamps, tongs, and some SS boxes the old man made.

Wow $15.00 for all that. just the other stuff was well worth it even with out the sander.
Do you have the top drum cover?
Probably want to do the bearings too. That will come up nice,I like those open stands too. There is a lot of good information at OWWM.

Yep, good buy. No covers  But I've seen them on CL and ebay already...so time for patience now. I'll do the bearings for sure. It will be gone through. Your handles look damn close to mine huh?

Never saw any parts or these sanders on craigslist, mine is the 1st. I've seen off c list.
Yeah, these handles look pretty good. Do you have the top one too?
Looks like the tension crank is missing on yours, someone made one for it. Supposed to be a ball crank handle.
Note the tracking adjustment is supposed to have some type of thumb screw.
Mine is missing .
I might make one, or just use a wrench on mine.

Yea, mines missing a few parts. I only have what is in the pics. I scoured the house and property it came from, but to no avail.

I feel like Catamounts sig line...."I looked around the garage and had to laugh. Nothing worked. Everything needed something. Somethings needed everything. Nothing needed nothing."

lol.

ok, I have a Q. The plastic knob that holds the "belt shield/guard" on, it is old faded black plastic. (Down about knee-level)

How do you "restore" that? lightly sand with fine grit? I know how to shine up metal...but I always eff up plastic.

l see you do have the proper thumbscrew for the tracking.

yes. it's actually easy to turn too...but I still dislike thumbscrews. A stud with a matching 4 knob handle would have been nicer. I'll keep it on there of course, I just have this weird thing about thumb screws. It seems to me someone lazy invented it. And another lazy someone buys and uses them. I know this is not true, it's just what my gray matter thinks off the bat. Even though it is totally practical for this application since you can lock it down.
