I've read and searched extensively but haven't found a thread to address a concern I have.
I'm back to considering using either RaceDeck Free Flow or SwissTrax RibTrax
on a 24'x20' area that only goes to walls on the sides. It also has a 1.5" step-up from the outside apron to the garage floor slab. Since I always back the vehicles parked there in, I'm afraid with the step-up and the driven wheels hitting first that the whole tile slab may move. I was thinking about possibly trying to permanently attach an edge transition piece to the floor slab at the doors to prevent this. Or will it actually not be an issue?

It's not going to be a problem at all. Your entire floor is going to weigh over 400 lbs. With the weight of your car on the tile you would have to really "floor it" to try and get your floor to move.

This is not typically an issue in wall to wall installations. In the very very rare cases that there is an issue, there are several very quick and easy fixes that can be implemented.
