Found this on the floor of a house we're going through. Can anyone tell me what it is. I have 2 guesses, a sewing machine part, or part of a rifle.. Can you help?

You got it--it's a sewing machine shuttle. (Say that fast three times. )

Yup, a shuttle from an old sewing machine. Probably out of a Singer treadle machine - my mother had one and I remember playing with the shuttle when I was a kid.

That makes sense. My mom's old ******* went to my sister's house. When it got there it didn't work. I think I now know why. Thanks.
