Thanks for the link. I almost congratulated the OP on finding bungee cords, but wondered what the other thing was. Its rather funny that someone lost it, when I lived in NY we were surrounded by water and Id regularly see the tourists' boats on trailers with props dragging on the asphalt going down the road.

It not only protects the lower unit in transit, but also helps protect the transom. If you trailer a boat, it is a must have. Somebody probably heading to the lake for memorial day. This one usually fits on 150hp motor with trim, or can be used for less. Probably didn't trim down enough and shook loose. That motor probably weighs 200#, so on these bumpy *** roads, it would be like a grown man jumping up & down and pulling on the transom, not to mention the static hold of the electric trim. Somebody is pissed - but.... it ain't me, he he.

Transfers the weight of motor to the trailer instead of pulling on boat transom.

Are those things expensive? maybe you should run an add on the lost section of CL to see if anyone lost something off their boat. Maybe the guy worked hard for it and can't afford a new one.

I hate seeing people on here gloating because the found something that belongs to someone else. It's NOT yours.
