Whats going on my fellow garage enthusiasts? To start, a little intro and my background. I'm a certified master Volvo technician of 8 yrs, im 29 now, a huge car addict, I have owned many cars in the past. I'm a pretty big BMW guy, I currently own a 95' BMW 540i 6spd which I have finally finished restoring (1 of 7), a super clean Euro spec 84' BMW 635csi 5spd, a 91' Honda CR-X Si with a full 96' spec JDM integra Type R motor and LSD trans, and the wife drives an 06' Lexus IS350.

I recently just purchased my first home, a few weeks ago and we decided to build new and make it pretty much how we wanted. They were not a custom home builder but we were able to do a few custom things, most importantly to me a 4 foot depth extension on the garage. This is my second garage, the first one was a little too tight for me, being a single, but I made it work after browsing this site for ideas. Here are some pics of my current toys and past garage.

And my old single car town home garage

The time has come to build my dream, and it all started with a new clean slate! I hope to give many people some ideas for thier own space as many of you have already done for me in the past. So with that said, let the fun begin! I'll be updating on a weekly/daily basis, It's going to be great to put as much attention to detail as I do in the cars into the garage where many more will be built in!

Funny, I've been looking for a wide grill 540 E34 in red. Great looking car. How's the nikasil liner?

Thanks! She's a good one, most are rusted and pretty beat. This was a solid, no rust, euro spec car in the color combo I wanted. I had to jump on it so I sold my 325is and drove as fast as I could from Florida to Texas and took her home lol.

As far as the 540, she's got the Nikasil block but no signs of wear at all. Most of the Nikasil blocks, if they were going to be a problem have already died off, not really an issue any more. I bought her 8 years ago with 130k and have been hard on it ever since, wonderfull engine. Here she is in all her 188K mile glory

Thanks guys, I've already picked out the wall color scheme. It took me a while but I think I've nailed it. If you look in the backround of this picture, its exactly what wil be going on the walls but I'm going to run the blue from the ground up to about an inch above my work bench. Im also going to include a Motorsport stripe in the mix. I Have a ton of BMW stuff to sort and hang on the walls, I want to go for a cleaner look this time rather than a cluster of stuff everywhere.

Nice cars! You weren't kidding when you said "super clean" 84'! Can't wait to see what you do with your garage. Congrats on the house.

Love the e34 V8 with the M sport, wheels and grill. Curious if you sourced an M sport steering wheel from an E38 7 too? The euro tails and signals are nice. Once the garage is built, I wouldn't mind me an E65 B7

Hey Shelby, pretty sure that was you I stopped in the publix parking lot a while back:

Haha yea that was me, small world. That car gets a lot of attention, IMO it truly is one of the most beautiful coupes ever made. Congrats on your new place, it's pretty exciting to say the least. Keep me posted on your build.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, no Internet at the new place yet. I have a ton of pics of the house being built and I'll upload them in order. I finished the garage floor using the Rustolium epoxy shield kit with "BMW" flakes and used the clear as well. Many hours of prep work acid etched and rinsed, pics to follow. I did get a lot of work done though over the weekend, my work bench is put together, air compressor is set up, I hung my tv and started to organize my tool box. Ill break down specifics once I'm off the iPhone, happy Memorial Day!

Nice project. Love all the cars, having owned M3s ( e36 and 46) and had an 88 CRX Si that I loved. Have a 2000 ITR now that I use primarily as a track car. I'd love to have a nice light CRX with an ITR drivetrain. :beer:to you!

This is where we finally closed on the house, about 2 weeks ago. First thing I did was clean and acid etched the floor multiple times. Clean and clear of any concrete dust. I purchased 2 kits each (4 gallons of epoxy and 2 gallons of clear) I followed the directions exactly, laid down first coat, in 4X4 sections, heavy application. I had my wife sprinkle the flakes and cut in the edges while I did the rest, you have to make quick work of it otherwise the epoxy gets hard to roll. I let it cure for 2 days and then laid down the clear coat, and what a difference that made, very happy I went with it. I let the clear set for 4 days and then we moved in!

The day we moved in I had a bunch of friends help us move, I paid them with a keg of beer and about 7 large pizzas. Excusse the mess, but it was unload drop off in garage and drink hahaha.

Now that we are settled and completely moved out of the old place, the fun can begin. Every weekend I plan on knocking something off the list, but first is finding all the stuff in boxes a new place to go in the house. Here are some progress pics I mode over the weekend.

These are my cabinets that will be hung in the single bay side of the garage.

I put my workbench together, its a craftsman with a single side box, stainless top and black backdrop with light.

Cleaned up the 6 (its my daily driver)
My dog likes the new cool floor

I then hung my Samsung 37" lcd and blueray player

My favorite shot so far, both of the girls tucked away looking for some fun

Now the FUN begins

Haha yea, from when they broke ground to about 2 weeks ago, it took about 8 months lol. It was funny to see it go by so fast in the pictures. Now for the list of things to get done...
I hope to get the lift installed by the end of the year, so lets say 6 monh time frame. I know if I spend any more time out in the garage before spending time on the rest of the house, my wife will kill me...

-Paint Motorsport Theme and white ceiling
-Hang cabinets
-Run all my Florecent lighting
-What will go on walls?
-Install Danmar 2 post MaxJax lift

Where in Florida can you still build a wood frame home?

I've got property in Lake Placid that I plan on building a
big garage and a little house :)

What a lovely home you've built, the view into the garage is simply magical. Just needs an e30 in the single garage now to complete the line up;)

Oh wow, great size garage and good length to the drive way. It was funny as i was scrolling down I got to the first pic of the 5 series in the garage and was like, NO, you drove that through the mud! Then the following pics showed the driveway and it eased my anxiety lol...

BTW which car does wifey get to drive?

As long as your not directly on the coast, or in So Fla you can pretty much build whatever you want
