New posters, old thread, doesn't look like spam, smell kind of like it

I've seen a number of posts lately that are "sort of" on topic, but kind of smell like spam to me.

One I reported the text of the message was clean, but if quoted it shows a spam link which search engines would pick up etc.

What I suspect on others is the spammer posts in a bunch of threads, seems sort of on topic, but they go back later and edit the post to put in spam and nobody sees it but search engines because the edit doesn't bump the post.

Should we report all "suspected" posts and let the mods sort it out?

Yes, report them and state your suspicions. many a spam post is edited later and in fact many spammer we catch as they edit posts.

If in doubt you can also PM Admin or any Mod as we have ways to check up with an IP address etc.
