Question Is this old craftsman vise worth anything?

It came with the old craftsman tool box I bought. I'm thinking about just give it a good sanding and paint job. Yea/nay?

Nothing wrong with those. That one probably says Japan on the bottom of the base. I have one very similar. I think you could get maybe $40 on eBay if you strip it or repaint it.

IIRC that one is made in Japan. I have the same one. It was on the back of the work truck for years and took a beating. Still going. I'll clean it up one day.

I'd paint it and use it if I were you.

EDIT: I think I'll copy this look for mine...http://www.ebay.com/itm/Craftsman-Be...vip=true&rt=nc

I'd put a coat of paint on it, then bang on it...

Don't sand it, use a wire wheel or get started into Electrolysis...

Definitely worth fixing up, not worth a ton o' money.

Those are pretty decent vises. Nice for smaller work and way better than any new Chinese stuff in most of the stores imo
