Snap-On hutch hooks

I hate to ask but is there any place I can get these cheaper? The part # is KAHK63.

Look at places that sell store fixtures and stuff. SO may have just sourced them from someone

Yes I agree Snap on may or may not of sourced them to somebody else to make and then stamped their name on them....

Are they the same ones that Menards sells?? Possibly.. I dont have any Mendards by me. Yes I checked Home Depot and Lowes... No luck. The only thing that worries me about buying them outside of Snap on is I wouldn't put it past Snap on to make the holes in their hutches closer/further away from "other" companies just so that can FORCE you to buy them from Snap on.

I HATE being cheap and try to screw Snap on dealers. I was a long time stock holder in the company for the simple fact that I believe in the company as a whole. At the end of the day I need a lot of these hooks and don't wanna shell out stupid cash for these things.

Check out "wall control". I just ordered a few things to try out and found this: their stuff fits the slots, BUT anything with multiple slot engagement will require some mods to use. SO sets their slots on a 3" spacing. Wall Control uses 2", so you can use singles, no problem and 6" or 12" wide stuff like shelves, but a lot of the Wall Control stuff is odd - 8" or 14".

I liked the idea of hanging more stuff to the outside of the rack, so I wanted to try it first. when I got it, I found out about the slot spacing issue. To make it work, I split the mounting brackets and welded in a piece to stretch 'em out to 15" to match SO's arangement.

The finish is supposed to be powder coated, but it's pretty chintzy compared to SO's finish.

Edit: I can also tell you I have bought some generic pegboard stuff from Lowes and found a lot of it does actually fit the round holes. Stuff like a hanging bin thingys that has 4 pegs ended up being the right spacing for those holes. The stuff was all "store brand" (Blue Hawk, I think) and the single little hooks and such work fine, too.

Their part numbers tell you the size "3050" is 3" wide (right for SO slots) and sticks out 5"

Heavy Metal Doctor- Thanks for all your insight on the hooks from wallcontrol. I saw in one of your posts that you thought the powder coat job was "chintzy" compared to Snap on. Whats your opinion on the QUALITY of the hook itself? "Chintzy" powder coating I can live with... ****** quality is another. I know to some people out there are reading this thread and saying its "just a hook..." I have a real problem with dropping ANY amount of money on a **** product. It doesnt matter to me if its a .01 or million dollars.

I too was concerned if the stuff would be decent enough, so I only risked about 25 bucks on this first order. The small amount of stuff I bought so far seems okay in terms of serviceability. I'd guess the sheet metal is at least a gauge or 2 thinner than SO stuff, but it works okay for what is, but I have only gotten the can holder and some slot mount brackets to make a little something up to store wire ties there on the wall of the hutch.

thanks for all your insight Heavy Metal Doctor. Based on what you posted about their product I dropped/risked about $50 on hooks from wallcontrol. I'll keep you guys posted on what I think of their product.
