Looking at the 9KOH or the 9OHSC from Greg Smith. I have 2 Superior (Brand) 4 post lifts at home now that have been great lifts but I only use them for stacking cars. Lately I have been doing alot of mechanical work in the shop and have been complaining about working on the floor. I would love a 2 post lift in there to help me out. I am a cheap guy I do not want to drop $4k on a lift right now. I have been looking all over craigslist and have found a couple used Rotary Lifts from closed repair shops about the same distance from me as the greg smith retail location. One rotary lift is already taken down and in storage so picking it up wont be too bad but it will not come with instructions or anchoring hardware. that is why I am leaning towards purchasing a greg smith left for 1600 - 1800 $.

Anyone have expirience with these lifts? Pro's - Con's? these will be used in my hobby garage where I only work on my own cars. I do have 8 cars so it will get used but maybe only a handful of times each month at the most.

some concerns I have:
-I have corvettes and camaro's mostly low vehicles, I need the lowest possible jack pads on the lift
-I do not know how thick my concrete is b/c the shop was here when I bought the house
-I want something that will last and be safe to work around/under

I would say that this post will serve you well, A friend of mine has one and has had no issues since he owned it the last 5 years. We picked it up new at there store and installed it the next day. The safety locks all engaged with loud clicks and the lift was not to hard to install be 2 people. We have put some heavy trucks on the lift with no signs of stress or safety concerns. We work on cars and trucks as hobbies and are completely happy with this lift . I would say go for it

the people at Greg Smith will tell you about your concrete. l bought their Atlas 10,000 extra tall extra wide. Had 7500 lb truck on it several times. Very pleased with it. l put it up myself with a gantry crane

Thanks for your responses, I am going to go that route, I just have to decide which lift I want. Maybe going to their showroom will help make a decision.

If you have the room and the extra cash, the extra wide - extra tall is a whole lot easier to use

Went up there to buy the 9KOH & Ended up picking up the 9OHSC (SS) for the same price because their inventory was messed up and they had ZERO 9KOH lifts in stock.

Going on a cruise to the bahama's this weekend. anxious to install it when I get back.

I have some very old AW-32 hydraulic oil in the shop. Anyone know if this stuff goes bad?

Installed the lift this weekend. Everything went pretty smooth, about 10 hrs total.
