Advanced auto sells them as does auto zone with the duralast version. But I have the duralast one and the magnet has lost its use.

$6 each sounds a little expensive if you needed all five 'standard' sizes, but I'm guessing that only one or two sizes are actually common? Anyone know which of the five sizes I regularly see below are actually needed for common cars (Subaru, VW, Honda, Toyota, Ford, GM)?

5/8-Inch, 3/4-Inch, 13/16-Inch, 14mm, 18mm

If I can get away with just one or two, then I'd buy individually.

Thanks

Just about every car I've ever worked on through the last 4 or 5 model years have been either 5/8" or 13/16". Some newer ones are now coming with 14mm.

18mm is most common on Japanese motorcycles. I've never used my 3/4" -- think those are for lawn mowers, chainsaws and similar.

Thanks, so possibly need 3 different sizes ... So $18 buying individually. I think I'm going to go for PowerBuilt 5 piece set at $11 from amazon. I've had good luck with PowerBuilt and a separate HF 1/2'' extension set for $10-ish.

Previously I did have a few spark plug sockets which always seemed to have one which fitted, but they are now lost to me and need replacing.

Most tools sets have only 5/8" spark plug sockets because that became the common size at least two decades ago. 13/16" was the common size up through mid-1980s, when four valve engines motivated narrower plugs.

Most oxygen sensors are 22mm (7/8") because Bosch manufactured the first ones on an obsolete spark plug production line. That was a long time ago.
