Sadly, I haven't had it to the track since I finished it ![]() Should be good for high 10's on motor and high 9's on spray.

Now that's NICE! I love the way the large slicks fill the back fender lines with the small tire combo in front. Very eye candy and also functional.

Goes 0-10,000 feet in less than a day.....
This is an old pic taken before the full roll cage.... Chevy 5.7L TBI, 4L60E tranny Locked front and rear 5.5" lift on 32's....waiting for the 35's to get in About the only thing stock is the body and part of the frame....going to the auto supply can be a challenge....When they ask "What Vehicle"....I have to think which part I'm working on.......it could be one of several vehicles...

OK, so I've trotted this out in a couple of threads here, but here's mine. Not part of the go-fast crowd, but I can't drive it without planning to talk to people who just want to know what it is. Even better when I meet somebody who KNOWS and get to show them under the hood. 1967 Jeep/Kaiser M-715 it's a 5/4-ton, yes that is a five quarter. The ONLY thing that's stock is the frame/body, everything else I did myself. Running a crate 383 turning 400+ HP and 440TQ at the crank. Th400 tranny, NP-203/205 x-fer case doubler, 60/14-bolt "modern" axles. 38'5" tires. This is what I built my shop to work on, the bitch of it is with the new job, both the truck and the shop are sitting ignored while I'm occupied making a living ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Here's my 2005 Subaru WRX Wagon. It has a full STI drivetrain (transmission, rear end, brakes, etc.) and a fully built 2.5L STI long block with the following mods:
- Kelford AVCS 272/272 cams - Perrin rotated turbo exhaust kit - Tial external wastegate, and Tial 50mm blow off valve - Hallman pro boost controller - Garrett GT35R turbo - Hydra standalone ECU - Hydramist methanol injection - Perrin equal length headers - Custom fuel system with dual walboro pumps, rails, and an aeromotive fuel pressure regulator - Borla hush catback - A laundry list of other parts, basically it has everything you can throw at it It's putting down 430/400 at all four wheels on my low boost (20 psi) 91 pump tune. Once we flip on the methanol switch, and run about 27-28 lbs of boost, it will be good for 500awhp, and mid to high 10 second 1/4 passes. Oh yeah, I still get great gas mileage while tooling around town. Just gotta stay out of boost. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

WRX.....BIGGEST numbers in the smallest package! I've always loved these machines for thier engine-specs, but the package is decidedly UNDERSTATED!
NOW, if we could marry that incredible "blown" performance with HertzClone's 'Stang "SEXY" body.....I'd acually marry a car!!! |

Thanks for the kind words.
It a very stealthy machine, and can be driven daily. That's the beautiful thing about turbocharged all wheel drive 4 cylinder cars. It just takes a ton of money and work to get it to the level that mine's at.

I know this is not most of you guys cup of tea but here is my hardbody. I have had it since 1998. Just recently started the major stuff. Its got a LT1 from a 95' buick roadmaster, new rear frame clip, Suicide Doors,Dash out of a 50's ford shoebox, Narrowed rearend for the big meats, and various other little stuff. She is still being mocked up so i can paint the frame and get the body work and paint done....

I have to agree that there are some impressive rides on here. This post is a great idea!
I'll start with our toy.... '71 Z-28/RS with lots of mods... and then there's my "work" car (seriously).... '02 Z as my daily driver... We had the whole herd lined up a couple of months ago.... ![]() The black S-10 has a 355 under the hood (oldest son's,) and the Cavalier is turbo'd & tuned (third son's.) We're getting close to building a "toyroom" for all of these. I'll be spending a lot of my time around here. This site is a wealth of information!! |

Minitucking sweet ride! I love Minitrucks. I had a '92 Hardbody King Cab bought brand new lowered it, big stereo all that stuff. Not bagged like yours as at the time they weren't as available as now.
Here are my rides not too modified but still fun to drive. 2001 GT Diablosport chip, 3.73s, Tri-Ax shifter, Flowmasters, CAI, Steeda suspension and 18" FR500 replica wheels. Cruising with the Orioles Bird in a parade in Baltimore. ![]() 1968 GT Coupe original drivetrain restored in 2000. ![]()

Here's mine.. the power plant isn't much to look at.. painted olive drab like the rest of it.. no chrome.. just dirty aluminum.. but it's balanced and beefed up to 450 hp/500 lbs.... fuel injected AMC 401... the rest of this pig is hand crafted by my friends and myself with a little help from Guinness... full hydro steering, 4 link rear suspension with quarter ellipticals.. shortened dana 60 front with a severely shaved 14 bolt in the rear.. running 5.13's welded up.. i am about to link the front axle and ditch the leaf springs..
as for the modified part.. well i started with a stock jeep 12 years ago.. and now all that is left of it is the transfer case, steering column and speedo cluster.. ![]() and let me say.. this car is just AWESOME!!! One of my all time favorites.. very nice!!!

It hasn't got the attention it's had in previous years (especially since building a new garage) but it seems happier now. Soon I'll have heat and will be able to spend more time working on it rather than the garage.
Future plans are possibly bags, and a mild rebuild on the stock motor. FYI: it's going to be his truck too! |

Mine's still evolving in the body shop...here are a few photos of the body followed by one of the engine & another of the front suspension...she'll end up with 8x16 wheels & a curb weight of less than 2,000 pounds with the 4L aluminum V8 engine putting 300hp at the 11 pound aluminum flywheel....not anywhere as fancy as some of you guys' cars but it wil be my daily driver & should put a few 'pocket rockets' to shame on the street:

what a load of great cars you lot have. Not that I'm surprised.
Autoist, is that V8 the Rover one ? Mine's the injected 3.5, just has the sports manifold and silencer so far but we have plans to rework it over the winter. They go well in the Range Rover but in a lightened MG they are real flyers.

Frank - it is a Rover...with a BOXER cross-flow manifold holding quad 44 SU's that I brought back from the UK in my carry-on luggage!
Here are the engine specs: = Late Rover 3.9L block with cross-drilled 4-bolt main bearings. = Rover 4.2L 'long stroke' crankshaft. = Rover 5.7" 4.2L 'long stroke' rods. = A&E Hepalite 3.9L short stroke pistons shaved .080" off top & 1/8" off bottom with moly rings. = Triumph TR8 carbureted heads with combustion chambers relieved, oversize 1.625" intake valves & 1.325" exhaust valves, ported, polished, decked. = Chevrolet small block valve springs with 95 pounds on valve seats. = Double roller timing chain. = Isky 270° cam with Isky 'anti-pump up' lifters. = All reciprocating parts balanced & blueprinted. Bore: 3.7" Stroke: 3.0" 10.5:1 compression. = Oil galleys opened to at least 1/2". = Neoprene seals. = Brass freeze plugs. = Morosso spark plug wires. = 11 pound aluminum billet flywheel with 10-1/2" Rover SD-1 Borg & Beck clutch. = Buick 216 V8 distributor upgraded to Pertronix ignitor electronics. = Nippon Denso/TS Imported Automotive 'Hi-Torque' 4.44:1 gear reduction starter. = BOXER intake manifold w/4 HIF 44 Carb's: modifications are: + Halved throttle spindle + Butterfly knife-edged + Throttle-fixing screw-heads and shafts countersunk and cut down, smoothed off, (Loctite threadlock used of course) + Carb body ported around intersection with dashpot bore + Piston leading and trailing edges smoothed, to eliminate sharp leading/trailing edges + General smoothing of any sharp edges or manufacturing errors such as casting flash. + Carb inlets smoothed to match Velocity stacks (trumpets). = TS Imported Automotive Jet Hot ceramic coated RV8-style headers. = DELCO 45amp alternator. = Remote oil filter. = Rover "short" water pump with Triumph TR7 fan. = Rover SD-1 big bearing 5-speed transmission w/shifter modified to fit MG tunnel when engine in 'setback' position. = Modified TR6 drive shaft. |

Here's my 2003 SVT Cobra Mustang. I don't have any good show off pictures handy. Just a collection of pics that show of whatever project I was working on at the time. In regular street trim it looks stock except for the seats and if you notice, the rollbar.

& the front suspension was bolted under it until it went to the body shop & came back out because I don't want any paint on it. |

Not to rain on Brookesy's parade, I actually like hot hatches, but I can see half a dozen or more a day.
US big iron, I might see half a dozen a year.

T88M3 WICKED!!!!! I love 240's. Have had one or two since I was 18. Raced them too. I always see and hear of V8's in them, but this one is awesome! Did you see the CarCraft Under $2008.00 comp that named a 240 w/ a v8 best all-around driver?

Well I wish all 7 slots had cars in them!
My files are to big to upload, need to take some more photo's. The plan for the boss motor is a twin turbo set up in a 69 or 70 mustang fast back. One of my other toys is a 1993 F150 Lightning with T-70 turbo & intercooler. That is fun.

Thanks. No fitment problems with the wheels. I just had to make sure that the wheels were from an '07 not an '08. Bearing sizes changed in '08.

Killer rides everyone, its nice to see a variety of cars instead of one specific brand!
Heres where I tend to deposit my funds- ![]() ![]() This photo just appeared in the readers ride section of the Dec. 08 Chevy Hi Performance magazine. ![]() Car performs decent for what it is too- ![]() 11.59 @ 113.85 with a 1.58 60 ft. Mild pump gas roller 406 2004-R overdrive transmission Ford 9" rear with Detroit locker and 3.90 gears ![]() ![]() Once my new shed is done, this winters project is an EFI conversion using a complete Accel Gen VII DFI/wideband system on the current engine. More pictures of this car and my shed can be seen at: http://www.motortopia.com/garage/cars/MYFYN79 Keep em coming!! |

The only used parts on the entire axle are the c's and knuckles. Once it gets in the vehicle (never have time), I'm going to decide on the steering. I'm *hoping* I can fit just the draglink in front, and the centerlink/hydraulic cylinder (hydro assist) behind the axle. We'll see. I don't have a rear axle built yet, I'm debating between full float 9", or another 60/9" hybrid steering axle in the back.

Been a project since day one, gets bracket raced during the summers, but kinda of weird since i'm one of the only racers that built a heavy street car to race LOL!! 3720lb going down track, interior from a 98' firebird i retrofitted, 800W stereo system, and still runs 10.80s all day long on pump gas through the mufflers, 427 sbc dynoed 636hp @ 6100 and 600tq @ 5100. this engine actually ran faster with the other bumpstick in it, so this winter i'm going to have the heads massaged and order the same stick i used to have in it that was running 10.60's wih the wrong convertor. We just put nitrous on it this past late summer/early fall for fun, now i want to add a second stage cuz, ahhh, yeah, that baby bottle is addicting LOL!!!
Test & Tune night just dinking around with the juicey juice. first time trying nitrous Down in St. Louis this past spring, this is a N/A pass, i have a round of qualifying i had to throw away so i just turned the 2 step up and addded more rear tire pressure to see what'd happen. [IMG] [/IMG]

They are fun to watch, but I like the dirt.
Dirt packed so hard you hear the tires squeal. Turning one way while going the other way. The smell of fuel. 1 & 2 wheels off the ground out of the corners. At least one guy upside down per night. |

Lots of great cars and trucks in this thread!
![]() Here's a bone stock original motor 4speed 6bbl road runner that will be getting a 505cu inch stroked 440 with ported aluminum heads and a comp XS290s solid lifter cam. Everyone seems to be taking these cars back to original but I've had this thing for 6 years(and a number of different 69 GTOs for over 20 years) and have never had anything but a stock motor. It'll probably make 525-550hp and 600lb/ft torque. One engine builder says if I keep the redline bias ply tires that if I punch it in 3rd or even 4th gear at 55 to watch for the ass end coming around

Maybe not "super modified", it's still a work in progress. My '69 Chevelle SS396 - 375hp solid lifter, bench 4 speed. It is a numbers matching car, but it has a few upgrades to suit me.
I should say that aside from designing models, I also work PT at S&W Race Cars. Feel free to PM me if you need anything. If I can get a good GJ response, I may be able to work out a group deal or something with the sales manager. Last edited by Speed Shop; 12-09-2008 at 06:38 PM. Reason: spelling |

Wonderful cars! It's refreshing to see so many different cars and noone being cruel to one another! Beautiful !
Well here's mine, one anyways... ![]() Looks like an innocent Nissan Maxima Drop in a 5 spd, a mildy built VQ35DE, and you have yourself a runner it's not the fastest, or the most powerful, just a fun street car. I hit the time in my sig with a slipping clutch and street tires, so hopefully after this winter when I put a better clutch in it and some slicks I can improve on that. Goal is mid 12's naturally aspirated. Wish me luck next year ![]()

That is the norm on this board. People disagree about stuff but don't resort to name calling or personal attacks.

Here is my old car I built for road racing. Started out as a completely stock 200hp 1993 Toyota MR2 Turbo.
Built motor with modified stock turbo that put out 350hp. While built for road racing, I did several types of racing including drag racing, land speed racing, hill climbing, drifting, rally and autocross (click links for cool videos). It did 12.5@111mph in the quarter mile, and holds a record in Land Speed Racing for 2.0L Turbo cars at 152mph in the standing mile. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is my favorite video of it. IHI: Thanks - yeah traction will be an issue, but all the weight is focused over the rear so that helps a ton. I'm leaving some "squat" in the suspension as to not invite wheelies...scary thought.
kbs2244: Thanks! e-tek: Haha, yeah the wing on there now is for trackwork only and the two big intakes feed the twin air filters for each turbo. We've found a factory original tail to put on but have to modify it to fit the intercooler. Other than the tail, all the bodywork is straight out of Porsche History with the 934/935 series cars, the tail that's on there now is from a 993 GT2 that ran at Lemans...so I'm not sure what you mean about "Jap out" unless you're referring to the wing endplates. Which they actually serve a purpose (calculations to increase wing surface area and actual downforce). We're going to attend the 2009 running of the Texas Mile and are hoping for over 210 So unlike 99% of all cars with wings on the rear - this girl needs hers. Here's what we're shooting for when she's done but just in flat black, the early 1976 version of the Group 5 racers (click thumbnails to enlarge): <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/33290433@N08/3132013777/" title="760509SSWSC012+01a1210256423 by blackbird93576, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3077/3132013777_c0271bf375_t.jpg" width="100" height="67" alt="760509SSWSC012+01a1210256423" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/33290433@N08/3132028377/" title="1bkg by blackbird93576, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3225/3132028377_8c03d96bee_t.jpg" width="100" height="66" alt="1bkg" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/33290433@N08/3132014045/" title="1976_04_Silverstone_036 by blackbird93576, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3089/3132014045_2af94f5992_t.jpg" width="100" height="69" alt="1976_04_Silverstone_036" /></a>

It is one in the same, but it's since been painted, changed bumpers, and built one heck of a stout AMC 401 for it, along with other stuff (interior / drivetrain / etc.). The motor in it is this puppy:![]() It's a fuel injected 401 that is 0.030 over with forged speed-pro pistons, crane roller valvetrain, hyd. roller cam, shorty headers, aluminum edelbrock heads, etc. Should be in the 450-475 range. The grey jeep is called the Wicked Woody, and I'm in the process of rebuilding the LT1 I swapped in. It's being converted to an LT4 using the Edelbrock kit, and I'm also stroking it to a 383 using a Callies Dragonslayer crank, Compstar 5.85 rods, JE pistons, etc. Also slapped on some 4-bolt splayed billet main caps. Before we slap a turbo on, it should be in the 475+ range. Not pictured is the J10 project I'm currently building (Dynatrac D60's, Mopar 360 crate engine, NP435, NWF Blackbox underdrive, Atlas II, 42" Pit Bull Rockers, Stazworks double beadlocks, etc. Also not pictured is a '64 Olds F85 I'm building that already has a built 455 to swap in (Edelbrock heads, speedpro forged pistons, 0.030, forged bottom end with main stud girdle, QFT carb, Hooker Super Comp headers, Torker II intake, etc.). Should be a nice little driver

Hey Junkie - So how is it that you are affiliated with Stacey/Trucks/Gearz? And what 's the story as to how you got it and why the changes? I'm always interested in the workings behind the shows...I've written some myself.

Junkie what gave it away to me was the grillwork and color . I just dont see that color as a factory color for the vintage of the grillwork on it. I have seen thata episode a few times as well
and watch Stacy's new show on speed . I met him a couple years ago at the Street rod nats pretty cool dude .Rick |

The rig was originally my daily driver, and I had previously met Stacey a few months prior to bringing the truck to him. He built it up on the show, and once he was done with it, I went and picked it back up. For the changes, well, the truck "looked" better on TV than it really was. The floors were swiss cheese, the motor was leaking from every pore, the interior was blah, and the paint wasn't all that great. So, I decided to build it the way I wanted and have had a blast doing it.
As for Stacey being a nice guy, I have to say he is one of the most genuine folks I know. He's extremely personable, friendly, and darn knowledgeable about all things automotive (unlike many of the other tv "personalities" I've met / known). |

Thanks man... car wasn't terribly "nice" or "new" to me
After running HPDEs and Time Trials w/ it for 5 years and nearly daily driving it the lower areas of the car were blasted and I couldn't find a painter who could properly match the factory 3-stage yellow. My father and I got a Panoz race car so it was time to re-do the Z06 and make it a fun street only car again.... so out came the roof The inner workings are all the same as a coupe/vert so once the cut was made all the holes were there to use all OEM parts. The custom part was molding in the coupes roof panel front edge in to the remaining Z06 roof. After that it was plug/play of OEM parts.

What about any structural differences? I know the C5 ZO6 does not have a different frame (like the C6 ZO6 does), but is there any other structural braces added with an OEM targa car? For instance - an Fbody conv't & Ttop cars have a bunch of floor bracing added over the solid roof cars (but they are unibody & the 'vette has a frame underneath). Looks like a simple mod, otherwise. Where do you put the targa panel when it is out? Is there enough room in the cargo area for it?

I fawking love Z06's
I had to sell my slammed and cammed black 2001 so we could build our house. As soon as I can I am buying another one. I dont think i will cut the roof out of it though but with the prices of standard FRC vettes so low I may need a project car to mess with =P |

Yeah they're becomming mighty affordable these days. I was either going to get a new Jetsteram Blue '08 one or go all in on this one... you can see the choice I made.
Sometimes I wish I'd chose the 2008, but no car payment and something I built w/ my own 2 hands is nice. Come spring w/ the top out it'll be great.

The notch Z's are way cooler imo. I have been in love with them from day 1 . The c6 never did it the same for me although I love the C6 interior and the C6 z06 specs.
For me a stock ish 2004 Z06 for keep mostly stock and a 99ish FRC to totally mess with would be the perfect combo. 427 FRC all motor with Z06 m29 gears OMG !! ![]() Beautiful ride btw

Thanks for the info. Really cool car. I may be looking for an FRC in the future & this was the only reason I didn't want an FRC. Now it makes the decision easier. I have no problem cutting the car to make it the way I want.

Not sure if it classifies as "super modified" but here's a shot of me and my father's Panoz race car. I keep it in my garage as I have the trailer and I do all of the upkeep on it.

I have a few "projects".
![]() The older one is known as "Miss Nasty" with 25+ psi boost. She runs in the very low 9s on DRs with a high 1.7 sec 60' times when it had just over 820WHP at 10.8 psi (would run faster if the 60' times were better at the new 25+ psi) . The newer one is "Smiley", and has yet to have any very serious mods. I also have a gaggle of super sportbikes (they seem to multiply as my wife says). I picked these two up in the last month. ![]() ![]() I alos have the Gix1000 and the 7R in the background, as well as an '89 Vette that is basically a tube chassis car. Aaron

The '87 is Competition Yellow (GM changed the color formulation in '89). The C6 is Velocity Yellow (not to be confused with the C5 Millennium Yellow). While the '89 is the ultra rare "Red".

My Z06 was millenium yellow... it looks nothing like VY
Here's my old roomates C6 parked next to my car before I made it a targa and painted it Ford Screamin Yellow.![]() ![]() As you can see they look nothing alike. The reason I asked is because I considered the later darker version of competition yellow when picking a color shade for my re-paint. Funny story... roomate had a 380 whp turbo eclipse... nice car. Calls me one day, "Hey how much power do those new '08 LS3 Corvettes have again?" Me, "430, or 436 w/ the NPP exhaust." Him, "Ok... cya." I figured he'd had a run in w/ one on teh street and raced him. Nope... he bought one. I came home and there it was sitting in the driveway. Guess I rubbed off on him.

I took the original drive train out and built a 427 SB and dressed it to look like the original DZ302 . 9.5:1 pump gas motor did almost 600HP at the fly wheel and 500ft lbs. put in TKO600 5speed . Baer calipers with 13" floating rotors. Koni shocks , Hotchkis sway bars . Since Chevy did not offer AC for cars with solid lifter motors in 1969 I put in Vintage Air and upgraded the interior. Drive this car all the time and it is a lot of fun

![]() Ya know, I've always wanted to take a motorized wheelchair and modify the crap out of it. It amazes me that the factories produce these looking like they do, but there aren't any cool designs or heavily modified chairs around......like change wheels & tires, build a new frame with some cool curves and bends, maybe some sheet metal and some gussets that have been punched / flared. Would be sweet. |

^ That chair costs over $50,000.... no I didn't mess up a "0". It will go to a full standing position and a full horizontal position; all one unit.

It is powered by batts I'm guessing? Horizontal to lay down? standing is cool too, as I've known folks that had various diseases / conditions / etc. where they could barely walk once already standing, but they lacked the strength to stand up on their own. What kind of chair is it?

Here are my money pits:
Camaro - forged 383, 242/248 nitrous grind, built TH350 RMVB with brake, 9 inch rear with 3.70s and 35 spline axles and a locker. Built to handle at least a 300 shot but that intake manifold can only flow 200-250. F350 - Intake, chip, full 4 inch exhaust from the turbo back, 22.5s. |

Man what a bunch of sweet rides.
a few pics of my junk ![]() This was my baby before a nasty encounter with some ice on an off ramp. ![]() ![]() Built 300 6 cyl, 4 bbl carb, split header, electronic ignition and some internal mods backed by a sweet C-4 trans w/ 2800 stall. This pic was taken during the mock up for an aluminum radiator and we had to custom build the doghouse as the stock one wasn't even close to fitting. ![]() Unfortunately it has some major issues with frame tweakage, so a pic of the replacement, will be getting it painted and together as soon as the garage gets a bit of a make over. ![]() We are building a nasty 302 to go in it. |

I did inquire about becoming a Hoosier rep/dealer since i go through a set a month so any little bit woulda helped, but we have a few local guys too close to me so i never pursued it any further..supposed i could set up a PO box or a suite # and have them dropped ship to me, but there really is'nt much mark up/profit in tires to begin with so i just found a great guy over in Illinois to deak with for my slick needs.

it's not pretty, and is currently taking an extended sleep, but a few years ago she was turning mid 11's in the 1/4. a few new englanders may remember seeing this at NED during some of the classic/import weekends. please ignore my high school rattle can sessions.

This what I have been working on for the past 15 years and counting. I told my wife it is a never ending project. Putting a 3" Flowmaster exhaust on it for this spring to help the 400 breathe better and give it some attitude.

I guess I'll be the first VW here-
MK4 R32 AWD w/ front & rear torque biasing differentials 6-speed 3.2L (194.6 cu in) 24v DOHC 15° V6 Stock is 250hp/236tq As she sits it dynoed aprox 330hp/300tq with chip/intake/cams/ported head/headers/cats/exhaust. In the next couple weeks I hope to get it custom tuned adjusting a/f, ign, the variable cam timing, and the variable intake manifold. It is no hugh power monster like some of your cars, but it is a small engine by comparison and all motor. With the Hotchkiss swaybars and Koni shocks it is fun to drive and sounds great..pulls strong to the 7300 limiter. Oh.. and it can haul a bunch of cargo and drive in any weather.

There some really cool cars sitting in these great garage/ shops. Here are some of the cars I have built the last 5 years or so. The Z car had a 396 big block Chevy T56. The Olive green seven is my old car that I sold last year. The Lime Green 7 is my good friends that we built in my shop for the 09 Cannonball Run where it one 1st in class and 3rd overall. The white car hanging from the ceiling is my new car underconstruction right now. It is another 7. I also have a reverse trike motorcycle underconstruction that has a Goldwing 1800 engine, but no photos of it.

Here's my heavily modified toy:
in 2000 when I bought it. ![]() ![]() ![]() track vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmmeuXP_i6c I started auto-xing it a few years ago and got hooked It weighs about 1900 lbs, down from about 2300. Right now I'm in the middle of installing a t3 turbo kit I've been piecing together. Some other mods are forged internals, head studs, 3" exhaust, stage 3 clutch, 8.5lb flywheel, LSD, 1999 Y8 Intake, Sway Bars, Subframe Brace, Tokico Coilovers, SS brake lines, 1996 HX rims w/ Azenis tires, Poly Bushings (chassis & engine mounts) I have a Mustang too, but I'm not willing to cut into it like I did the civic... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgFNZhKMUbQ The mustang is just engine bolt-ons, exhaust, shifter, and a lot of suspension I want to get a old Bronco or K5 Blazer for my next project. |

Hey Guys, not a super modified but some work getting done, its my summer cruiser:
1. 2. 3. 4. I have a Tremec 5 speed waiting to go in, pulling out the automatic. The engine is original, but some one before me blew out the original trans and replaced it with a Buick tranny. According to the vin and Pontiac Historical Services it is a real GTO, just not matching numbers. I'll be replacing the rear as well with a 3.90, and finally a disc break setup. After that some headers and then I'll start messing with the interior. Last edited by Valsmere; 01-24-2009 at 10:25 PM. Reason: picture didn't come out |

Looks like a decent GTO. Factory A/C too. You a member of the PY forums? http://forums.performanceyears.com/forums/index.php is the site address if you aren't.

My new car under construction should be about 550hp to the wheels at about the same weight. The Z car still has a special place in my heart thou. That was my first car I purchased at 16. That particular one was my 4th Z the 3rd to get engine conversion. I just cant leave stuff well enough alone. I'm on PY forums every now and then, I haven't been on in a while though. I should drop by again to see whats up. Thanks for the compliment, yeah factory AC, I also have the 8 track, and the AM FM radio that came with it. Kevin54 No the car has actually been in New Jersey all its life. According to the PHS Documentation it was sold from Cerami Pontiac in Ridgewood N.J. with final assembly coming out of Framingham Mass Pontiac plant. There was a 67 goat on ebay about a year ago that was the twin to this one. I mean just about identical in every way. I can't get enough of the old Goats. Hopefully I will be able to build another one. |

mine dose not a lot of power but I do have have a swap planed with lots of boost to fix that issue. When I am done she will have a 3.2l straight six DOHC fed with holset HX50 backed by a 6 speed gear box. On a conservative tune it should lay 450+ WHP down easily and look no different than this pic below can we say sleeper and smoke em off between the 1st 4 gears.
88 BMW 325IS with lots of suspension and brake work done to it fresh paint and interior as well.

Wow, Monte433. You gotta be making some serious torque to get those wheels in the air. One of my friends in high school had one of those. It was a nice ride, but HEAVY. What you got under the hood?

Here is my work in progress, and my granny, I thought i'd title it a little old ladys grocery getter. It's a 69 nova that my dad bought new the year I was born. He used to drive me around in it when I would get cranky as a baby. The shaking of the car put me right to sleep. Sometimes he would just put me in the drivers seat and start it up, and i'd be out in 2 minutes.

. I keep the high boost setting at 18psi most of the time. Still making 380whp @18psi though. I also have my greddy ProfecB boost controller controlled by my left horn button so I run lower boost in 1st , 2nd then hit high boost in the higher gears. Traction is definitely a problem with 400+hp in a fwd car.The VR6 has only a 15' V so its pretty compact. Here are a few of the car projects that i did over the last year for friends. Another Golf VR6 turbo build. Was a 1.8L CL golf before ![]() ![]() c6 Corvette NOS install ![]() ![]() ![]() The car managed a 11.9@122mph. Hasn't been out again but has more in it yet NSX supercharger install- (dam fun car) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And the latest one thats just about done - 4 door Golf mk3 diesel to vr6 conversion ( complete build on vwvortex.com) http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3928068&page=1 ![]() ![]() Im also slowly doing a mild rebuild on another VR6 that will be going in my 1992 GTI ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

6Grrrs,
I dug your truck when you had it in Pontiac MI. in 2001 for the power tour. The brake light was invisible until you hit the brakes. Everything you did was top notch. Truck still looks great. Last edited by TOOLOW4I75; 03-25-2009 at 01:01 AM. |

Oh my!!! There some insane cars in here!!! Awesome!
Not worthy of this thread since what I am doing is all cosmetic changes... not enough $ to put a worthy modified engine in the engine bay... but anyway: I am modifying this car from this: ![]() To this: ![]() And this is what it looks like today: ![]() All other cars are completely stock... and the rail buggy was sold to a friend as he got tired of waiting for me to finish it... |

Not a car, but it is another "mini truck"...well mini suv
It's been dormant for a long time now due to the state buying my house for a new road and trying to get moved into a new location. I start my new garage very very soon Anyway here we go!1996 S10 Blazer The only thing still original is the body shell. Here is a rundown of the modifications completed and ongoing: BODY -Shaved items: handles, gas door, rear wiper, rear hatch button, antenna, wipers, hood squirters, side mirrors, roof racks, 3rd brake light, tail lights, entire rear end (welded tailgate shut; installed sheetmetal quarter panels and roll pan and all welded together), some roof seams and other small items that will probably go unnoticed ![]() -37x70 sliding ragtop -Rear door jambs & doors tubbed to make room for 22"s -98+ Front fascia swap; taillights to come... -Full hand built flat sheetmetal floor from firewall back with tubs. Gives me about 2" more headroom than stock floor. -Shaved firewall with small tubs for front 20" wheels CHASSIS & SUSPENSION -Full stock floor bodydrop. Will lay the body sheetmetal flat on the ground. -Hand made tube frame from firewall back. Built from 3"x3" 1/4" wall square tubing. -Tranny x-member has removable center piece and square tube sections added for exhaust routing. -Triangulated 4-link rear setup with "bag on bar" for greater lift and smoother ride. -Air Bags are Slam Specialties RE7s on all 4 corners. (8) 1/2" valves. Haven't decided on compressors or tanks just yet. I'm leaning on a polished Sanden engine driven and a couple of 5 gallon tanks right now. ENGINE & DRIVE-TRAIN -Motor is a 355 SBC from a Camaro that was built part for part using an article in Car Craft to produce 440HP. I don't have the exact list of parts here right now but I do know it has an Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap intake, a VERY nasty Comp Cam, and Vortec heads. I added a bigger carb (Holley Street Avenger 770) and a more powerful ignition system than what was on there when I bought it. Will have Hedman big tube headers and everything else I need to get it running soon. -Transmission is a 700R4 rebuilt with all Corvette internals to hold 600HP. -Rear end is a Ford 9" narrowed 8" on each side to fit the deep 22"s. New Moser axels fitted for S10 bolt pattern. Haven't performed a gear swap just yet...and I'm not sure of the stock gear ratio as the information plate has been removed. I do know it came out of a 60's or 70's Thunderbird. WHEELS & TIRES -Front: Boyd Coddington Slayer 20" x 8.5" wrapped in NITTO NT555s -Rear: Boyd Coddington Slayer 22" x 11.5" with a 7" dish also wrapped in NITTO NT555s INTERIOR -Incomplete at this time. Looking for a 55 or 57 Bel Air dash. Will have vintage buckets up front and hopefully a small bench in the rear. Interior will have all vintage styling. PAINT -Bare sheetmetal for now. Will be a two tone satin black on bottom, heavy metallic red (nearly a burgundy) on top that sweeps back over the black with flames all pinstripped in either a silver or lilac/violet color. OTHER OPTIONS & POSSIBLE MODS I have a set of Fireman's Cross Harley mirrors that I was going to use but now I want something a little more sleek. I am really really really wanting to suicide the back doors however the height of the wheel tub is making that dream very difficult to come true. Exhaust will be true duals with either a pair of Flowmaster Super 40s or go old school and use a pair of Cherry Bombs. The hood will be cut to allow the motor to come through. Intake for the motor will be either a Gasser style scoop or one of the tri-hole scoops. I know I've probably forgotten something so I'll get to posting pictures then if anything hits me I'll add it later. Enjoy! Rendering of what it "might" look like ![]() ![]() Cut & Smooth Firewall ![]() Flat floor, tubs, tranny/driveshaft tunnel ![]() ![]() BIG Ragtop ![]() Gotta love DEEP Dish! ![]() Frame painted with dark charcoal hammer-tone, suspension painted black ![]() ![]() Door jamb tubbed for 22"s ![]() On the trailer getting ready to go to a car show ![]() At the show ![]() My Motor ![]() ![]() ![]() I have many more pics I can post later. This truck has already been in Mini Truckin' Magazine twice and it's not even done! That was the highlight of my life...I always wanted to make it into a magazine. Also, the guys who throw the Indy Truck Bash in 2007 used my truck for their show t-shirts!

And this is my daily driver.
2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie SLT 4x4 5.9L 360 Superchips Tuner Billet Grille swap Black headlights & taillights swap 18x9 KMC Rockstars 35" Toyo Open Country MT 3" Body Lift Torsion Spring leveling ![]() ![]() ![]() Of course, I wish it still looked like that. After a small collision tearing up 2 of my center caps on my wheels, a jealous idiot punching the side of my bed and leaving a fist sized dent among other tragedies it looks kind of rough. I am getting ready to start a full make over with this truck...will post details soon! |

Wachuko's got some cash!!! Looks killer - you can always make it faster later!
Big Grizzler- THAT is a crap-load of work and money right there!!! Incredible build. When I saw the firewall I was questioning, but the rest is wicked. Love the raw metal work. I'm guessing you're gonna paint it like the photo? |

Thanks alot! Yeah, I wish I could have posted my GOOD pictures last night...I'll have to try to find where I've stashed them and post them up. Paint will be very close to the rendering. Several years ago Jesse James had an S10 built with a similar paint job. I'll see if I can dig up the photo. It's a satin hotrod black on the bottom with a basecoat/clearcoat finish for the top color in a very, very deep metallic red. Pinstriped with either a violet/lilac color or silver. Also, I need to give credit where credit is due. The suspension work, ragtop install, firewall, floor and rear shaving were done by a guy in Joplin, MO by the name of Kyle Dimetroff. The engine was cleaned, painted and reassembled by a guy in El Paso, TX named Hector Gonzalez. Both guys are from the www.blazinlow.com forum. The truck was picked up by me in primer with a raw frame, raw metal interior, and no other work done. I have taken it to where it is now...which includes fixing some very bad body-filler work before the primer was sprayed. Not Kyle's fault...the shop doing the painting dropped the ball on that one

Ok those ae both fun lookin rides the Fiat should be all kinds of fun to keep on the road. I grew up hanging with a couple brothers who's dad had an old 500 and almost every weekend he would pile all of us boys in the car and take us out for a spin through the tiwsties in it . To this day I remember that thing was like a large gocart around the corners

Well I have had this blue Mustang LX since '89 and it has been a great car. 10 yrs ago pulled the 5.0 for a 5.8 351w EFI and big brakes w/ 18" Moda wheels. Not long past that a Vortech S-Trim was added and puts some real fun into the coupe.
Black interior, FloFit seats and a Momo steering wheel make it comfy inside. Dynomax UltraFlos add the tone to a JBA/Bassani exhaust. Here's more on my 5.8L Mustang if anyone is interested in LX fox body Fords: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3246043 Time flies, hard to believe I have had this car 20 years now! Apparently one of those covered the 2 miles down in our village from one set of traffic lights to another, from a standing start in just 2 minutes a few years ago. Of course we... er... someone... did it at 2am in the morning.

Well I'm new here and I gotta start this out by saying DAAAAAYYYYMMMM!!! There are some nice ass cars and trucks running around this place
![]() ![]() Mine doesn't really compare to some of the beautiful classics that some of you guys have, but here she is anyway. 2003 SVT Cobra in Dark Shadow Gray. Some of the mods include a Whipple 2.3L Gen II supercharger, JLT cold air intake, complete custom fuel system, custom intercooler/aftercooler system, Steeda Sport lowering springs with all Maximum Motorsports polyurethane bushings throughout, full length sub frame connectors and MUCH, MUCH more. The wheels are polished billet True Forged Chicanes in 18x9 and 18x10. The interior features a custom Infinity / Clarion DVD/Nav sound system without about 2000 watts of surround sound power. So far she's gone a best of 11.1 @ 129 on BF Goodrich Radials. I am in the process of ordering a set of slicks for it so I can really see what it can do. Once I get a 10 second slip out of it, I'll be heading back down to the dyno to have a more aggressive race tune done. Then it's 10.30's or bust. On the pump fuel tune that I currently have she made just shy of 600 RWHP and 550 RWTQ. The car currently has about 9k miles on it and ALL of the work was done by me, in my lowly little 1 car garage. I do have to give some credit to my friends at The Streetrod Store for allot of help along the way and some very generous lift time when I needed it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's one last one of my humble little garage during one of my projects on the Cobra. My compressor is actually in my basement and I ran the air lines through the sill plate. Nice and quiet out in the garage when it runs

Wow! Lots of great stuff on here, with a great mix of toys.
![]() I don't have a current project, but I'm looking around, now that the old house has sold. ![]() Here a couple shots of one of my old ones, also see avatar, back at OCIR and then one of the Corvette that I drive now. Thinking about a 55 Chevy gasser type next though, we'll see. ![]()

Here's our 1966 Ford Fairlane GTA. In the one photo is a picture of my old 1939 Studebaker with it.
