I just uploaded my full video review for my new Milwaukee M18 FUEL 2763-22 High Torque Impact Wrench. This thing is a BEAST!!!
I have used it exclusively in place of pneumatic impacts for over the last week, and it has not disappointed me once. The power levels that it has are unreal, and it is every bit as powerful as my Ingersoll-Rand 2135qtimax & 2135qtimax2.
I even went so far as to go to a friends house (another mechanic) over 60 miles away just to take off 2 different Honda crank bolts for you to see. It did not hesitate at all, and popped them right off (01 civic & 89 accord).
Lugnuts feel like removing a screw from drywall.
I am very happy that this has 2 torque modes, because it would be very difficult to snug a fastener back on without breaking it if everything had to be done in full-torque mode.
One complaint that I kept reading about online after I got it, was that the "mode 1 torque" only puts out 30-50 ft-lbs. I contacted Milwaukee to ask in their testing, what sized fastener & thread pitch was used to achieve 100 ft-lbs. They replied & said it was a 5/8" grade-8 bolt w/coarse threads. I then went to Tractor Supply & bought that bolt, brought it to the garage & put the nut in a vise. I cranked the bolt down in mode 1 until there was no more movement (5-6 seconds) & tested the torque with a torque wrench. I also used a torque angle meter to verify that it was not moving as I tested it. From 50 ft-lbs, in 10 lb increments I went to 100 ft-lbs & there was zero movement on the torque angle meter. So, yes it will do 100 ft-lbs with certain fasteners. I do not think it will get that much torque with all sized fasteners however.
