Hi guys!
I'm new to the forum (been lurking awhile) and I finally got far enough in my drill press project to post pictures.
I got it for free from my boss; it had been sitting in a corner of the shop for many years. It was thought unusable due to the chuck not being true, but it looks like it just wasn't seated in the taper properly.
I bought a new chuck (accu-pro from MSC) and cleaned it up. I like patina'd tools, but since I couldn't find any info on this make/model anywhere oin the internet, I figured it probably wasn't a collectors item.
I'm wanting to do some scrollbrush/gold flake on the sides of the head.
Enjoy!
New chuck:
Used an HF buffer with some metal polish to clean up the column:
Then had the parts powdercoated bright red:
I'm still waiting for the table to get finished; I had some holes welded up and it's getting resurfaced. I'm thinking of adding a small laser pointer for ease of lining up parts.
