Ok, so I like to look at these kinds of threads... and I'm sure I am not the only one. The recent wrench thread was great and of course there is the "Ratchet Porn" thread. Now its time to show off your screwdrivers, hex drivers, Torx drivers etc. I would be very interested in seeing what some of you guys have!
oh yeah.... ![]() So post em up! -Mike

Most of what I have is Cman for now, I like the older pro line opposed to the new red & black handle. I have a few SO & Gearwrench mixed in. Here is what I have.....
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I know these are not really screwdrivers (t-handle torx, hex & nutdrivers). But I thought I would post some pictures. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Some key chain drivers: ![]() Cheapo drivers I lend out or save to abuse: ![]() One of the few screwdrivers I have from my Gpa. ![]()

I personally wouldn't have posted what I have in that thread because I don't think I have a very colorful set?! ![]() Was thinking this could be a thread for members like me who maybe wouldn't have posted in that thread for the same reason. This is a thread for all drivers, doesn't have to be most varied color. This is for (old, new, beater, collector, truck brands, still packaged, misused...whatever.

Here is my modest collection. What is left of my Snap-Ons, a PROTO stubby, an old Craftsman, some dinky Craftsman Pros, a couple US made Husky's, and an old anonymous wooden handle stubby. The nut drivers are Husky and I assume taiwanese, they don't say on the handles.
![]() I know a lot of people aren't fans of these ratcheting types but I use the he// out this old Matco. Oringinally I had a longer one with the old maroon handle but I dropped it on concrete in the winter and the handle shattered. This was the closest thing to it on the truck when I warranteed it.

The first batch of matching drivers were easy, all the other odds and ends stuff is still waiting for some kind of organizational inspiration.

I tried for borderline artistic; it's a collection. It, and some other drawers are lined with blue felt.
Well of course it's a way of looking at it. Why not? |

![]() My screwdrivers are in the other thread. These are my nut drivers... on the right, painted, wooden handled CKs in imperial sizes. On the left, no-name metric I shouldn't have bought. They're cheap rubbish. I'm replacing them with something of quality, but one at a time as I find them in car boot sales. I have four or five now, but they weren't around (apart from the plain wood in the middle) when I took this pic.

Merk, you actually have some Cman?! I'm surprised you didn't PS those out. J/K
I do have a question, I have noticed in a couple of pictures from members a driver bit storage where did you guys get those? I made one out of some wood & painted it...but the one pictures would work a lot better. Thanks

You get 4 pieces about 2' long. I love it, all my wrenches go in them, too.

...well, everyone's gotta start somewhere. I'd recommend the purchase of a slotted driver next time around; you're getting a little heavy on the Phillips stuff.

Damn skippy. Personally, I think for starting out, the $30 or whatever it is 24ish piece craftsman screwdriver set is a good deal. They aren't high end, but I used them for 5 years as a mechanic, so they do work.

The red wood handled stubby looks like the drivers that came in Porche 356 tool kits. Does it say made in Germany? If so, could be Hazet, and worth a boat-load of $$$ to a vintage Porsche owner.

I seem to remember either my Dad or Grandfather having several of these in different sizes. Both of their collections were Craftsman and SK heavy with a little PROTO and Snap On. They both worked for Chrysler. Probly my Grandad as my Dad had a boatload of the red and blue Craftys. |

Got wood? How about some vintage MACs. I think I got these in the '70's as a gift from my dad. I have other brands (about two drawers full) but these are my favorites. You can really grip them. There are more of them spread out in the shop in various places. These were used and abused in my youth. I take much better care of my tools now.

VERY nice looking, Sean, but I notice they're low down in a deep drawer that wastes space. I think you need to buy another box to get them up higher in a shallow drawer

It`s from Bahco. It looks like this but it says "Bahco" instead of Belzer. One of the last residues of the original Belzer lineup in the Bahco programme of nowadays

Came across this old screwdriver and couldn't help but sharing, it says Apco Mossberg on the handle, Attleboro MA. Anyone use something like this? It only reads to 25 inch pounds on the scale.

I got that same pink Snap on screw driver. It was a well used screw driver and I had to warranty it recently. I got a orange handled one instead of the pink. It was cool because I always knew it belonged to me.

We can start with them not having a country of orgin on them. I had actually asked about this earlier in the thread, and obviously have a picture of my actuall driver showing Made in Germany. Next he says that they say "Proturn" on them which he claims is "their DIY grade Junk". Actually that is the style of the handle and has nothing to do with a lower grade driver. They actually say Wiha (which is the brand, not Proturn) and Proturn 3k (Proturn 1k on the stubbys) which is the grip style. Then he bet me $100.00 and when I accept and win he dosent pay me Oh well I got exactly what I wanted a VERY complete set of drivers at a very good price. They are MUCH nicer than any lower end non pro drivers (I.E. the standard Craftsman) The handles fit my hand nicely, and are comfortable. So far I LOVE them if you couldnt tell, I wont let this guy take me down ![]() Sean |

Oh yeah, Wiha make some damn good screwdrivers, and that's a hell of a set right there. If he was such a damn expert on it, he'd know how good they were. As the saying goes "Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

BUMP or TTT on this thread.
Any new members what to post some pictures on drivers lurking in your drawers that you would like to share? Or maybe some newly acquired drivers from older members?

I bought it and it had a Damn hole in the handle! I keep having it replaced under warranty and everyone keeps coming with a hole in the handle wtf?

Thanks for posting some old school goodness; everybody should have some of these great old drivers in their toolboxes. Old screwdriver never die...they just get shorter or otherwise modified!

Decided to participate in this, my assortment includes Craftsman, SK, Wera, Whia, TopTul, a Stanley and a Klein, a single Snap-On, and the most recent addition, some really nice P B Swiss. I have a torque driver kit in a box in the back of the drawer and a 8 pc. Facom micro tech set in the drawer with my electronic test tools.

They are my newest, the PB Swiss line. The handle feels just right, not too soft or too tacky like some are. The flat drivers are really neat, on the tip end, the sides which would be in the slot of the screw are parallel to each other. they fit just perfect in screw slots, first driver I've ever seen with that feature. I like how the caps on the handles are marked with the tip style and size and by color, nice feature if you have them stored vertically in tool bag slots.

wow, ya'll have some impressive screwdriver collections. i dont think ive owned that my drivers over the last 30 years. i think a have a couple straight blades, and a couple phillips and for nut drivers, 7mm, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, and 7/16th is all i ever use.
especially in my service truck where space is limited, i only carry what i need to. i have all my screw/nutdrivers in one small drawer, just the nut drivers and one straight blade and one phillips. |

Duh, I guess I should read more carefully before answering a question. The racks are the Ernst rails, I bought them before the newer version was available. It looks like the rails will accomodate drivers of different length better than the newer style.

My PB Swiss just came in (photo's sometime later this week).... and I have to admit, it's going to be hard to reach over for the Wiha's and Snapon's now.. The PB Swiss with the "SwissGrip" handle are almost luxurious to hold.. I think the new S/O grip is also quite nice.. the Wiha somehow now seems 3rd rate, even if it is made in Germany and an order of magnitude better than your run of the mill ChiCom brands..

I think we share a common addiction, Monte.
You have a more broad collection. I want some more euro screwdrivers. Need to get me some (more) Wera, Wiha, Witte, PB Swiss and Felos.

Monte, how do the Pro-twist handles compare to the Ergo-twist?
That is a very impressive variety you have Which driver do you favor most ?

[QUOTE=BrokeEF;669934]Thank you, I have been very happy with the so far. I really wanted to get an all inclusive set since I didn't have any to start with. I bought then from Amazon Hope that helps
![]() Sean Im curious, did all those come as a single set or did you have to purchase many sets ? Im thinking of getting rid of all my mismatched screwdrivers and nut drivers. I looked at Toptul also. I want to try to get them all at once. I checked Amazon after reading your post but all of the sets were small. |

This is a good but difficult question which i unfortunately can`t answer. They are all somehow more or less ergonomic, some people prefer plastic handles some rubber etc. i personally prefer "rubber" coated screwdrivers were the complete handle or at least 50% is covered with rubber and ideally the "twisting zone" too. While the "twisting zone" should be round the rest of the handle should have a irregular shape (hexagonal, trigonal etc.). I also like the heavier feel of "go thru" screwdrivers so maybe i would vote for the Felo "550 series" or the "Witte Protop 2 Impact" or similar. But it`s always a matter of how you hold the screwdriver too. Some drivers have bigger handles than others with the same tip size, i prefer smaller sizes for handles, the majority seem to prefer bigger handles, and also new styles appear every year like the new Hazet "Hexanamic" which ain`t bad (i also like the older style very much), the PB swiss ones are nice, the Wiha Proturn, the....... ![]() The best is to buy them all ![]() Some speciality "screwdrivers" ![]()

It's hard to pick a favourite for sure. I think it largely depends on application--working on a heavily rusted screw; working with high or small torque loads; small screws with little resistance to large screws that have more resistance; working on screws overhead versus below or horizontal. Those conditions will affect what the ideal screwdriver handle profile, feature, and weight would be.
In the end, to each their own.

@Monte: Do the Hazet (middle) and Gedore (left & right) plastic inserts basically offer the same level of quality? Or is one brand noticeably better?
Thanks, Chreese |

@chreese: good eye !! :-) I think they are made equally , i can check next week if there is a noticeable difference (e.g. material thickness) Most of the inserts are from Gedore, i have one from Hazet from the pic, another 2 for files (Gedore don`t offer them) and one for the combination wrenches from Hazet (for the Hazet wrenches, too long for the Gedore insert). Gedore ones are cheaper and shorter (so you can add the small "container") and some of the Hazet ones are too wide (for the drawers of my box)

Ive got those same channellock screwdrivers. I got them as a gift last year for Christmas. For being cheapies from Sams club ive been pretty impressed with them. They have held up great, and I've used them hard. They are my designated abuse drivers.

They are made by Felo in germany. They`re a combination between the Felo 550 series with striking cap and the Felo "Ergonic" with the "spongy" handle. Exclusively made for Wurth (Felo is owned by Wurth). Felo quality is very good.

Something that I haven't seen so far in this thread (sorry if I am wrong) - I have spaced the Ernst rails at different widths so I can put shorter drivers on one side and longer ones on the other. I also keep my cordless screwdriver in the same drawer, along with screw starters and a magnetic pickup tool.

You can never have too many black hard handles.

My screwdriver organization isn't finished (the separators for the Phillips ones aren't finished, and I still don't have a great solution for the Torx collection) but I thought I'd post up what I had so far.
Like many of the things in my shop, I couldn't find anything exactly meeting all my requirements, so I made up a solution. In this case, simple thin aluminum strips with a bend for stiffness to keep the drivers separated by type and size. ![]() Pretty simple, but it makes use of some vertical space that so many other storage schemes ignore, and offers some organization. Version 2.0, when I get around to it, will include more separators, and a better solution for the smaller drivers.
