Nimrod, your "little garage" has inspired me more than ANYTHING I have seen on the internet, ever!
I gotta move to the country. G.

I dig it. Just the building itself, not to mention all the cool old stuff you have in there. Is it all timber-framed like that? If so, that little carport/ garage will probably outlast all of us and our grandkids. Besides, what better place to work on old-school machinery than in a building constructed with techniques and technology that has been around for hundreds of years?
I am inspired, for sure. |

Living in a rural area and having a ratty, leaky lean-to as a workspace, I was trying to convince myself I really wanted a sterile clean-room kind of shop.
Now I know that I don't. In fact, I never did. Thanks for sharing those photos. I now have work to undo... ![]() Will in NorCal Last edited by wilbilt; 08-23-2006 at 05:12 PM. |

Nimrod, that is an awesome garage, and great projects. Did you do any modifications to it to make it more airtight? I have a tobacco barn I would like to convert to car space in the future, but like most tobacco barns, it was built with green lumber, and as the lumber dried, it left 1/2 to 1" gaps between the vertical boards.

Very cool garage
Are those stacks on the roadster engine made of brass pipe? I really love garages and work spaces like this. You've stopped time exactly where you want it, and it looks great. Last edited by Andx0r; 10-06-2006 at 12:30 AM. |

Excellent setup. You've given me a little hope as I'm going through a divorce right now. When its all settled and I buy a new place, I may try to build something that makes me smile like yours does. Way cool. thumbs up.

I've enjoyed everyone's garages, but this whole setup is my favorite. Kudos.
Pardon me whilest I go out back and slay this green monster called envy.
