It's a Wayne 70 style pump.
(Wantabiggeretc.) there are no numbers on it,
I have ordered some... I'm not even sure how much I should put on it when the numbers arrive... $.30 per gallon?
The cast iron bottom is missing, so it's not very heavy, maybe # 50? I am going to make a frame with wheels for a base so I can move it whenever I need to, but it isn't going in the trash (brownbag)!

old gas pumps and vending machines are always cool things.... i used to have an old candy machine that i picked up at an auction for $15.00. took it home, cleaned it up, repainted it and put "condoms" in it for a laugh.... and boy did it get laughs... lol

I love guys like this. He'll throw stuff away. Even if there is value in it. Just because he thinks it's junk. This is how you find the killer deals. Anyhow I think $200 is a great price on that pump.

I found an oldy with the glass on top - have never seen another in person. Anyways, the guy owns a few gas stations and has tons of pumps, signs and hundreds of oil cans. I guess he's amassed quite a collection. He's trying to get a collector to buy them all, but has this one in front of some rental he owns. He said he'd call me back with a price - so thanks for givin' it a ball park!

Very nice and you did steal it at $200. I have Bennett 900 with the all the guts and it weighs a ton.

LoL, I guess if you have a small garage, that might actually be a problem. I suppose you haven't seen the garages posted on this forum... most aren't single car garages.

That's a really cool find. Besides the fun factor, it'll only go up in value.

E-tek, if you found a tall, thin pump with glass on top, you would be looking at a lot more than $200. An original in good, non-restored condition would probably be $1,500 to $4,000 US depending on the age and brand of pump. :wtf:

Autoclassicnut stole that pump for $200. My neighbor has two similar pumps for sale @$450.00 each. They are complete but not as clean as his is.

Thanks for the comments, guys I just finished wiring up the lights in it and will post some update pics as soon as I put the gas price numbers on the front window panels...I'm thinking 26 cents a gallon would be close?

He may be talking about a "visible" with the glass on top. That is the style that holds the 10 gallons or so that you pump it up into the top before dispensing.

Oh, didn't see the reference to my statement.

Yeah, Kevin, those are the ones I am talking about. Usually when you see antique pumps, they are the ancient ones, and those are the ones everyone wants. I've seen them referred to as "visible gas pumps." There are also the ones with the company symbol in glass that is lighted on top of the pump.

I would rather have the ones from the 60's or 70's, without anything on top.

That is a early 1960's pump. I know, because I used to fill all the cars and trucks in the summertime, and that is the type of pump that I worked back then. The building was erected in 1955, so the pump could possibly be as early as that. The gas would turn a wheel in the circular window, and if it stopped turning, that indicated that it wasn't pumping gas. One thing that I always thought strange, is that it will continue to register gallons and dollars, even if there was no gas being dispensed. That is the reason for that circular indicator.
