Just wondering if anyone has tried to deal with this problem? I am thinking a dab of liquid nails, or concrete adhesive, or double sided tape on each tile would really help....maybe eliminate the noise. Anyone try this?

I just got used to it, I've read where the thin foam underlay made for use under pre-finished (Prego) wood floors works well for this. It is cheap and available at the big box stores. My concern was the possibility of mold growing in the foam from any moisture or water that might get into it.

thanks...that is a good idea. Is the noise really bad? How would you describe it? :headscrat

I have said this before, I really don't understand why people think they are noisy. I put my tiles down and had them for months before a friend made a comment about the noise, I actually had to listen and walk to notice it. Yeah, they made some noise but my welder, my grinder, my compressor and any one of a hundred tools make far more noise.

You don't mention where you are but anywhere near me, come have a listen before you figure out how to solve a non-existant problem.

ditto for me, I don't notice any noise, except perhaps a faint crackle when I drive my car over it, very faint. but also that's some degree of cushion between you and the concrete which is a good thing if standing on it for hours.

I put down the cheap blue foam underlayment from Lumber Liquidators underneath my GarageDeck tiles. Seems to work like a champ.

No clacky noise at all. There is a faint snap/crackle/pop when rolling heavy stuff on it, but it has pretty much gone away.

I think it does several things for me. Quiets the tiles, provides a barrier between my untreated concrete (new) and any spills and adds some warmth by insulating the concrete.

Negatives are that the floating nature of the tile might be a bit compromised. When I first drove my Dodge truck into the shop, the tiles split along a seam. I pulled out and fix them. Drove in again and the tile bulged up. Both times I didn't pull straight in, but at an angle.

Now, I just drive straight in and no problem.

Works for me.

I put down landscaping felt/fabric. Very thin and moisture won't bother it.

I laid out an area with and without and there was a big difference in noise. Hardly any with the felt.
