whooo wtf. were did summer go?just been bouncing from project to project spent a little time on a tire rack and storage to get things cleaned up and off the floor.

started off like this what a frickin mess.what to do with limited cash.this is what I came up with.

here are some of the supplies 1.5 emt conduit,1/16 cable,1.5 scrap aluminum tube, some hose clamps,a couple of 2x4's,some screws, more scrap aluminum, some magnets, some foil tape and some beer.
don't want to forget the help.here one of my boys and his friend bending some tube this could also be subsituted for a 2x6 cut into a u bend. use what you have is my way of life.anything you can do to get your kids involved.

welded some flat stock put over a pice of pipe and beat into submission.the ends will then just be hose clamped.

the conduit is mounted to the wall via billet aluminum clamps that I machined again I like to use what I have layin around this could be subsituted with a 2x4.

the 2x4 mounted to the studs and then wrapped with aluminum foil tape.

to be continued..need to go get more beer.

Wow, just awesome. I laughed with surprise when I first saw the new front of your garage.

Impressive how much work you put into your home. Take a little time to reflect - you should be very proud.

Thanks for your comments.I do like to take pride in my work as much as it sucks to take that much time to build things after they are done it is all worth it.

Finaly had a chance to try out the hoist beam. wanted to see if the front of the garage pulled off but it stayed put with no creeking or groning. Guessing the box of concrete rocks weighs around 800# so i think it should be able to handle a snowmobile or a motor pretty easy.

well hope everyone enjoyed there summer as much as we did. Spent alot of quality time with the family and did not get beans done at home but still making forward progress its just in baby steps.here are some more picts of the new tire rack and storage.

2x4 to mount the foam to and some angle clips to hang the turnbuckles and cables to.simple and easy just like me.

I had a bunch of left over foil foam from another project so this is what we used it for for now.

the hinge for the foam is just foil tape and it hinges down with magnet tape on the edge to hold it shut hope to keep the dust out and the over spray off.

Is the trap door into your attic big enough to store a snowmobile up there? or were you just referring to being able to lift a snowmobile into say the bed of your truck? Just curious ... By the way, Your place gets more awesome everytime you post it here! Congrats on the magazine spread too!

Breeze the door in the attic is not big enough to store a sled up there just was hoping to be able to lift one out of the bed of a truck or in it.was hoping it would be able to suport at least 600# and it seems like this shall be no problem at least with no snow load.if nothing else if life gets to bad I should be able to hang myself with out the garage coming down on me and just injuring me and not ending it.
ps.hoping to finish our killer clock soon.
