Newbie, New Little one-car Garage

Hi,

I'm a Helicopter Technician located in Quebec, Canada.
I'm 22yrs old, it's my first garage. I bought a 'condo' house 3 weeks ago, and the little 'in-house' garage are included.

It's not a show-off garage of a 40yrs old guy like what i find there, but it's functionnal and it's mine.

I start the garage construction 2-week ago. Everything are new in it.
I have a big Tool box for helicopter at work, but at home only a hammer and screwer. I bought everything into 2-week, and i'm far away to finish the shopping.

That's the result to date.
Floor Epoxy, Little bit of painting, Decorative Stripes, Homemade worktable
Basic Tools, Workbench, parts washers...

I want to add Cabinets over the worktable + 2 each side of the garage door
Decorative Banner, Stickers, Racing Stuffs, tools, tools, tools.
Compressor, Welding Mig, Plasma Cutter, Engine Lift, Engine work stand, sandblast cabinet, Install my computer, add doors to the worktable, hooks
Car lifting device... electric under car lift 24-30inch... i'm looking to find the best thing for a little work space.

For some reason I was able to accomplish more with my little 14 x 24 than I have in any thing bigger since. Once I finish my new shop I hope that changes. I used to heat mine with a construction heater just like yours but I had way more stuff in mine. I had **** hanging from every surface and had a sand blast cabinet, 5 hp upright compressor, two work beches, a rolling tool box, a welder, all of my parts and autobody supplies and I could still park my 72 GMC in there in the winter.

Way ahead of the curve for most 22 year olds. I didn't
get my A&P ticket till I was 23 and that was 23 years ago. Only thing I
question are your drop lights hanging on the walls. :headscrat

arm burnin,bulb eatin things went out of style before you were born!
(for good reason too) Had a boss once that threatened to start taking the
bulbs I was goin through outta my paycheck. :lol_hitti

gotta think you'd be much happier with the newer fluorescent ones or

Thank you to everyone,

Good point for the Drop light, but 60$each for LED (used at work) and 8$ for the bulb style. I buy the less expensive, for sure i will change it, but for now a lot of more interesting money hungry project.

For the question about my work,
Yes after repair of a major/minor snag on the rotative assembly i always make a power test, strobex test, balance test. But i can't take a test with a minor chassis snag.

Per week, i flight around 3hours per 40hours of work in the warehouse.

That kind of job are contractual i spend the most of my time in ontario and Alberta. Each technician are affected to a Helicopter, i follow the helicopter anywhere. When the helicopter flight for a contract, i flight with. After the day i do my daily inspection, cleaning, and fix snag.

I'm certified for the Eurocopter Astar 350, Bell 205, Bell 212, Bell 206L. I follow a lot of copter.

That's an amazing job!

You don't have to be offended!
If i compare my bank account to the majority of guys there, i'm a total beginner. I cant compare my garage to 90% of garage there.
4-5, 50-70k Cars, 4 doors garage, all tools... ****!

Now take a set of used tailrotors from work and bolt them to a ceiling fan. Hang that in your shop and you're stylin'!!!

I have one in my office. :thumbup:

My office and my work are only based on helicopter, my garage are Cars only.

I will take some pics of my office, tail rotor on wall, helicopter seat for chair complete consol w/gauges hanging on the wall, Fake Rocket of 5.5foot...

On picture: 13' x 30', 7.5' ceiling
I have An additionnal section of 4.5' wide 22' long for the parts, tools, etc..

For the electrical question,
I have 3, 220V plug.
6, 120V plug.
And a Big Pannel only for the garage.
But for sure, i can't use everything in the same time..

The guys before me do a lot of powdercoating and painting, He do a nice electrical setup.

The heating device, Carolitech 4800watts 240V Electric Heater.
I have a 7500watts ready for action if the 4800watts dont do the job correctly.

That is a really good use of a single car garage. Quite a bit of work done in a short time. Actually for a 22 yr old you have done far more than many your age.
