Found this guy on Craigs List last night about 10 mins after it was posted. Contacted the guy and he says earliest I can come over is Noon Sunday. I get there today and try to work a deal, but he wasn't having any of that and wants full asking price because two other guys are waiting to see what I'll do. So I paid him the full $200. It needs a real good cleaning and one drawers sliders are screwed up, so I need to take it apart and see what it needs. Sure is heavy. This matches the top of the set I bought a while ago. My plan is aquire another lower box and then I'll have the two sitting side by side. Trying to go with deeper boxes for added storage space. This one measures 3 ft wide by 22 in deep.

i bought my kr550/555 in 86-87 new price $2250 for the pair. i'd say this one is older with the old style logo.
top boxes alone are very hard to find, most were sold in sets or with the old taco wagon. I looked for many years trying to find just a top to put on my 2nd roller cab. i ended up selling the 2nd cab to a young kid that i worked with for $500.

It's was h e a v y !! The kid and I were able to muscle it in and out of the back of the truck. When I painted my other one the only way I could set it up by myself was with all the drawers removed.

seems like old SO lit. said they were like 250 lbs or so. i know one thing they aint no fun to move by yourself even with the drawers removed :shocking:

i bought one like this awhile back for 150.00 and to get it out of the truck i had to have a friend help me and it is very heavy even with the drawers out also the slide rails are still available and will be covered under warranty also most of the parts are still around also from snap on

take the drawr sliders out and get the model number of the box, find a snap-on truck and get them warranteed and say its your dads tool box. i did this with my dads 3/8 ratchet from the 50's and it got warranteed with a rebuild kit.

the driver wanted to give me 200.00 for it and i said no its my dads... it really is.

i have the same box design but mine says matco on it. my late friend got it from desert storm when he was a shop forman there.
