Hi everyone, I'm a new member here getting ready to start building a new pole barn/shop. I'm going with a 36x54 with 15' walls, this is the absolute maximum size that I can get away with staying inside township ordinance:bounce:........ I'll be building it myself with the help of my brothers and a few good friends. I'll start with a few pictures of the yard with the size and location staked out. All the permits are set and construction is ready to begin:beer:

I was "sick" from work today:spit: and got the truss carriers installed:thumbup:. The LVL truss carriers to span the door openings will be here tomorrow. Too bad the trusses aren't going to be here for another week. I am going to get 120 tons of sand dumped to get the grade up, should be here Wednesday

We got all the wall purlins and the garage door headers put up today:bounce:......there will be 2 Overhead doors, 1-12'Wx12'H, and 1-12'Wx13.5"H. I was going to get 2 12x12's, but ended up ordering a 13.5' tall one so I wouldn't be limited to what would fit in that bay. I'm very glad I switched to the taller one.

We put the final pieces of steel siding on yesterday. I still have to put the rear corner caps and ridge cap on. I took a picture before we got started yesterday and this morning. It's looks alot different from having sunlight vs. shade on the panels.

Time for an update......... I've been quite busy the last couple of months with our new baby:)........Barn progress has been slow, but we poured the ratwall just before 4th of July. I'm getting ready to pour the floor, hopefully by the end of August.

Looks like the same color (top color) just another name from a different company. Might because it's metal siding and not vinyl. I thought of doing my garage with metal but using a dark green for the bottom.

I do like the color though. I know Menards stock "Savanah Wicker" in the stores down here(Certainteed, I believe). You might want to keep that in mind when you go buy your siding. I actually bought our house siding (Wolverine triple three) from Carter, it was a special order.

Getting closer.....I'm hoping to have concrete poured very soon. I have a little more work and it's ready to be poured. So far 5 of the 7 loops are laid out. I couldn't follow the CAD designed tubing layout exactly, because of the location of the car hoist.
