We had one of those when I was a kid, I liked it when you got to the end of what you were writing, messed up and had to start over again. And the adhesive wasn't the best either, they'd fall off after a while.

We had one. Was cool at the time. Not as nice as today's label makers. But they got the job done. I agree with mickey....they labels didn't tend to stick all that well.

I love those things. Nothing like the red or woodgrain label tape.

I remember people having those labels on their things when I was a kid, but I think that's the first time I've seen a "tapewriter" that makes them.

Or exactly the opposite would happen; that stuff would get hard and fuse to whatever it was stuck on. I bought a set of steel small parts drawers on CL a couple years ago, and every drawer had a labelmaker tape from probably 30 years ago. I like to NEVER got all that **** off - I swear some of those had become part of the molecular structure of the steel!

My dad has that very one in his tool box still.

I'd like to borrow it for labeling some of the gauges and switches in my gasser... And some other stuff around my shop too. I'm guessing he won't part with it though.

Glad to hear that tape is still available!

Previous job had one of the old label makers. The letter "A" didn't work. Usually we just substituted the letter "O" in its place, or whatever made the funniest word. We also had tape that was indestructable and would become a permanent addition to whatever it was applied to.

Found this at a garage sale the other day.

I hate to admit it but I threw one away just like that not 6 months ago. It was cool and chrome and I had hung onto it for YEARS....but I never used it and finally just tossed it. I didn't have the box or anything but it was exactly like that one.
