Thanks, for the kind words guys. I'm trying to make visible progress every time I go out there and work. I hung some OSB on the ceiling last night. It was only three sheets but it's a start when you're doing it yourself.
I have to get some wood cut this week, so it might slow down the refurb a little bit, but I need the heat for the winter.

Build looks great! Really like what you did with the house so I can definitely see the potential with the garage!

Ok, I admit, I have been slacking on the garage lately. I was busy last week trying to get some "heat" cut for the winter. My parents have about 17 acres of woods and I clean up all the standing dead/decent dead on the ground.
The big row is a double row, a small row beside the garage and another stack between the poles that needs split yet.

I did get the aluminum brake and wrapped the garage doors, also nailed on the weatherstrip around the doors.

I have started the ceiling, hanging OSB. It's pretty labor intensive when you do it your self. I screw a few blocks to the adjoing sheet or wall, lift up the sheet, drive in one nail , get off the ladder, (hoping the sheet doesn't fall) and stick a T bar or dead man under the sheet. Then I climb back up the ladder and bang away with the framing nailer.

Today, I'm going to try to finish the ceiling for the most part. I took off half a day so I have to got to work this evening. All the OSB left to hang are partial sheets, which will make it easier.

I finished up the OSB on the ceiling on Friday. I had one sheet that wanted to kick my butt. Luckily, I won out and nailed it. lol.

Here's the other side finished.

Here's looking through the center beam. You can see the dead man leaning against the other wall.

Saturday morning I went out and rolled the first coat of paint on the ceiling.

I'll go back out tommorrow and do a second coat. I've been using Kilz oil based and man does that stuff stink. When I through another coat on it, that'll all that gets done out there. I'm going have to get a decent fire going and open the vent in the eave to vent out the stink.
another view.

I used 7/16 on the walls and ceilings. The ceiling joists are 24" oc.

How tall are your ceilings? And once you get a fire going in the woodstove, how long before it's comfortable in there? Sorry for all the questions!!

Not at all. I have been enjoying your project and tune in to read the updates when ever I get a notification.

To be honest I wish I was in a position to do something like that but I only have a 2 car garage and I am not really sure what to do with it just yet.

No sir, enjoying watching your build. I'm busy now with my own 40x60 metal building. But watching you redo yours, is a heck of alot more fun.

By the way, Kilz makes an indoor primer that doesn't stink half as bad as the oil based primer, and works just as well.

I absolutely cannot believe you were hanging 7/16" OSB on the ceiling that high by yourself

The ceilings are now 11" since I lowered them. They used to be 14' and slope down towards the back and were about 11'9". Well, actually the interior roof line still is.

I generally take the Bode out in the morning and start a fire. I come back inside, surf the net while eating breakfast, then take a shower. By the time I am out there it's nice enought to work. Generally it doesn't get much colder than 48-50* during the winter. I have a fire going 2 out of 3 days, as it fits my work schedule, 24 hours on/48 hours off. The concrete floor acts like one big heat sink, gotta get the heat in the 'crete.

I saw the latex based stuff but I was going over a dark gray that is already oil based. I figured the oil based would cover better. I believe it was also a few bucks cheaper for the 5 gallon bucket too.

Coverage has be fine with two coats and that was going over the dark gray. I'm planning slapping the 2nd coat on the ceiling tommorrow.
