This wood contstruction boggles my mind. I'm just used to my mom's fiances construction site I worked on. All the houses were concrete floors, and concrete walls, 1st and 2nd floor. I guess ya'll don't need that being that you aren't in Hurricane land.

I see a lot of houses built here too though that do the 2nd story wood, I'm always like WTF?

There are a couple features built into the garage(which the town requires) which you cant see. They are what looks to be strips of galvanized steel which were imbedded into the concrete walls and attach to the wood studs. The ceiling also has joists running in both directions. I'll have to take a picture of those.
