Air ratchet - Impact or chrome sockets

Sorry if this has been asked before, I searched but didn't find anything.

I love my 1/2 impact, and of course I use impact sockets on it. Now I'm thinking of adding a 3/8 air ratchet to my tool "collection", and have a question. Is it OK to use regular chrome sockets on an air ratchet, or are impact sockets required?

I've been using chrome as long as air ratchets have been around. No issues. I break more sockets with manual ratchets

I use whichever is closer at the time. I've never had an issue using chrome sockets on an air ratchet. Plus, sometimes that's all that fits.

Just don't use chrome universal joints, air ratchets tear those up pretty quickly.

The chrome joints can tear YOU up pretty quickly!

I worked with a guy ages ago that was using one on an air ratchet changing a set of plugs. It pinched the **** out of him several times so fast it wasn't funny. It chewed some chunks out of his hand and left a couple of blood blisters where it didn't chew as hard.

Had another guy launch a socket across the shop and through the back glass of a customers new pickup truck. He was using a chrome universal joint and a socket on a 1/2" drive impact wrench. That was about a hundred on the Duh scale.

Chrome universal sockets or flex sockets on air tools are really really bad JuJU.
