Hey guys,

I have a 14" Ford Mustang clock in my garage. It's one of those that runs on 1 AA battery. Talk about LAME! It looked OK in my computer room, but in the garage it just get's lost. I was wondering if anyone had a lead on a cool looking clock that's bigger? Maybe neon or something?

I've done a search on Ebay...but I didn't see anything that just screamed out at me. I'm wondering what you guys (and or gals) have come up with.

TIA!

Phil

Since I'm a motorcycle nut, I made one of these. The instructions are posted here somewhere to make your own and I might add them to my website (to sell).

I imagine that if you use a 10" rim golf cart tire it would easily pass for a car tire for the hot rodders or muscle car guys!

Here's mine, although I changed the sticker on the caliper to a Porsche logo instead of the Autoart one. Looks very real from a few feet away.

I've got the same one. I won it in a raffle at a car show a few years back.

I've been eyeing this one or one of it's bretheren listed in the ad. Kind of cool and not overly expensive.

I have an old pressure plate that I was going to turn into one. Haven't found hands I like yet, and trying to come up with some small, thin wrenchs for hands.

The only thing I am worried about, is dropping it on my foot, when I install it..:lol_hitti

Any Buick lover would appreciate this neon clock that is hanging in one of my garages.

That's nice, John.

Do you know where she got it? My wife may need to buy me one too!

I don't recall, and neither does she - it was 4-5 years ago; all she remembers is that it was from a catalog - maybe California Car Covers? :headscrat

I too do not have a clock in my garage. I have a watch on my arm if that counts. I also would like to know where John's wife got that clock. Pretty sharp. Since my name is also John I could just come over and get yours John. Or not!!! I will check out California car covers.

Here's two I did for a friend. Big block Chevy valve cover and a Mercury Cruiser Fenderskirt. I didn't do the neon.

My clock is nothing special. I'd guess it's late 40's early 50's 18" Edwards Co. clock mounted to a piece of 1/2" thick bar stock. Thats mounted to 3" long springs and those are mounted to 3" angle iron. This clock came from the Dept. of Emergency Management. It is nuclear blast and earthquake proof. I think it'll do in my shop.

I have a Craftsman saw blade clock. I got it as a gift several years back.

It looks a little bit like this one, but not quite exactly.

It would be cool to take an old sawmill blade and make a clock out of it. (24"+diameter). Or make your own backing out of scrap steel, wood, etc.

Here are the pics of my clock. It has a ignition key on it and when you turn it the engine will start and run for about 30 seconds. The clock also sounds like an engine when the motor is working. Its not in the garage now because I am doin alot cutting and welding and dont wana ruin it. :)

My clock was built in 1955 and doesn't hesitate to tell me when I'm late for something. She also tells me when to get up in the morning.

Following the "bent/ruined" wheel theme, I have a wasted Torque Thrust with a $5 clock works installed. :bounce:

no pic, but my shop clock is an office wall clock that my ex bought me about 25 years ago. most clocks aren't big enough (expecially the numbers) to see from any distance away, like in your shop, so she went to an office supply store and bought one like big offices have. that was before the days of office depot and staples and such. those kinds of stores prolly have these nowadays.

it's about 14" - 16" in diameter and has BIG numbers. it ain't very pretty, but i can see it. i've got it mounted over the walk-in door at one end of a 60' long shop and it's big enough that i can see it from just about anywhere in the shop.
