Went by the local Greg Smith Equipment to look at the Atlas Garage Pro lift and was incredibly impressed by the 408-SL. Really clean design with no exposed cables & linkages and noticeably stoutly built compared to the Garage Pro series. It's a little more expensive and also doesn't come with as much stuff which does make it almost 25% more. They even have an offset bracket to mount the pump more inboard. I have not seen any reviews on this lift... anyone have any thoughts or own this lift? I have not seen any other lifts besides these two before to compare. I gotta get myself a birthday present!

I also talked to the salesperson there about certification. He was saying that pretty much today's reputable lifts all meet or exceed the certifications. Getting certifications would add a few hundred dollars to each lift and they are trying to gauge if they would sell more lifts with it or not.

thanks!

I've bought a 408-SL and I'm building it with a few guys next Tuesday. It's arrived and looks impressive so far.

i'm in the same boat, i put a deposit down on a Atlas Pro Lift but really like the 408. It lacks reviews. It also does not have the double locking system, zerks fittings or the flow restrictor in case you have a line blow. it also does not come with the rollers. The advantages is the width and run way clearance and more positions in the latter to lock into....I'm still on the fence and may switch, I just wish there were more reviews

I just installed a 408 and I like it a lot. FYI - it does have a double lock feature. Primary locks are controlled by the release lever and a secondary lock is set if the cable loses tension.

I was all set to order the Garage Pro 8000 combo, but after reading up on the 408-SL combo, it seem like a slam dunk for only $300 more.....
